a mailing list to let people (on the list) know when there is a new movie in the cinema, or a new plug in uploaded...

Would that be a good idea?

lol

I think it would be do-able, if people want it. Anything that gets people coming back to the site is a good thing.

BTW, all new plugins and movies are automatically annouced on the chat room (#alamdv) the second they go up smile

Sounds cool, i don't think it should email you EVERY time something new was uploaded, but rather a monthly thing where you get an [automatic?] email once a month with all the new movies and plug-ins in a list. If it emailed you for every new uploaded you would be getting daily emails...

Sounds good to me. Only, it should be sent out when new plugins post, but not movies. We may desperately need a plug to get something done, but no one ever urgently needs a new movie. The people who'd sign up for this check on the site all the time anyway... i know I do.

great idea...it would be very useful to people with crappy connections (like my own) cos then we wouldn't have to keep coming to the site and checking up on stuff...

A weekly automatic update that tells you the news stories and what plugins and movies were added would be cool. Should tell you the top ten and stuff like that too. Just an update on everything you would want to know. I think this would go down really well as long as you can opt out.
