No is the simple answer. AlamDV2 needs 32bit colour from start to finish or strange things WILL happen. 32bit colour is called "Millions of Colors" on the Macintosh.

Please note that your monitor does not effect the amount of colour you can show - it is your video card.

when I go into my color settings, all I see is thousands vs. millions of colors. It's set to millions.

"For AlamDV2 to run correctly your colour depth has to be set to 32bit (millions of colours). If you choose to continue then AlamDV2 may produce unpredictable results and you may experience instability while using the application

For AlamDV2 to function correctly please Quit and increase your colour depth to 32bit (millions of colours)."

I think that says it all.

In my experience, AlamDV2 runs fine in 16bit, but when you compile all of your effects will disappear. Therefore, if 32bits makes your computer do funny thing, you can do your editing in 16, switch to 32, compile, and then switch back.

Hope this helps!

It's pretty much a case of screwing something into a port...

Just something to add,

Why don't people bother looking at the 'System Requirements' of a program before they buy it? Sounds a bit silly in the first place...
