Hey Guys,

It's been awhile since I was on here. How is everybody? Ive been sooo busy. Just went to LA and tried to make good contacts. Got to talk to a couple famous directors and producers, some actors. Anyways, the new thing in LA right now is the "8mm" look. I am looking for a 8mm preset for Effectslab Lite. Can this happen? If so I would greatly appreciate it. So, thanks again and Hope everyone is doing well!

Hello djconspiracy. I have just taken a look at the 8mm preset available for CompositeLab Pro, and VisionLab, and believe I may be able to recreate this in EffectsLab Lite. EffectsLab Lite contains very little in the way of grading filters compared to CompositeLab Pro, so I will be working with a limited selection to create the same appearance, which may be tricky.

Depending on how it goes, I will submit it to the preset library, and post back here to let you know if it has been accepted. It may take some time to be viewed, but I should have it created rather shortly. Hopefully it will be to your liking.

Take care.
Wizard.

I have finished the creation of the preset, and have submitted it just moments ago. I am satisfied with it, especially considering I had significantly less filters to work with then I would have had using the filters that are available with CompositeLab Pro.

Keeping this in mind, there are subtle differences between my preset, and the preset created for CompositeLab and VisionLab, but they are still rather close, so the differences may even go un-noticed for the most part.

We shall see.

Hello again djconspiracy. I thought I would give you an update, and let you know that my preset has been accepted. You can download it here. As with all grading presets, you will achieve better results using this preset on certain types of footage, but hopefully it will work for anything you have in mind.

Enjoy.

Hey thanks a lot Wizard! Looks great. Good work. the "8mm" look is pretty hot right now. Looking at and speaking to different production companies around LA the word on the street is this 8mm look. Dont ask me why, but I believe we are going to see this look used more later this year.

Hello Archonte. I notice you specifically say "filter". I just want to make absolutely certain you are aware that this is not a single grading filter, but rather a grading/filter "Preset", which is a combination of multiple filters.

This means it can not be located in the filter browser. To apply a grading preset, you can either right click on the specific object in the time line that you wish to add the preset to, and select "Apply preset...", or you can click the "FX", found on the right of an objects name in the track listing.

FX button:

Additionally, make sure you are downloading the preset intended for EffectsLab Lite users. If you are attempting to import a preset which is not designed for use in your version of EffectsLab, it will simply not be available. This preset can be downloaded here.

Hope you enjoy it.
