This is really a nice idea, it would be really cool if the FXhome team put together a list like this once every year and we could have our own awards show! smile Maybe like some kind of streaming video? Anyway, nice idea. smile

I agree! It could be like with the Oscars.
FXHome did something like this before, but films were submitted specifically for that contest. If it would be done with all the films brought out over the year, it could be real fun!

This is a really, really nice idea! smile

I agree, that would be very very cool.

The cathegories should be focusing on different aspects of filmmaking, as well as on a film in general and should be hosted by Tarn in a bunny costume. wink

No, seriously. I think that'd be a great and fun idea.

The first thing he should say is "Masks!" of course biggrin

More categories though, like best cinematography and maybe...best trailer?

My answers:

1. American Idiots 2- Best Comedy, I literally LOL'ed my way through this.

2. The Hit- Best Action, one of the only full-on action movies here, and by far the best. Nothing else comes even close.

3. Toy Wars/AOTS- Best Starwars fanfilm, they rock. 'Nuff said.

4. Imminent- Best Thriller, again one of the few thrillers and still the best

5. Today we just change channel/Cover's Story- Best drama, The former is beautiful, to say the very least. And yes, I know, I put my own movie, but I like the drama in it. I mean, we got a guy to bawl all over the place. I guess you had to be there.

other categories:

1. Anything from Sollthar- Best Use of Fxhome software, 'nuff said.

2. K-Text- Best Fight scene, well done in the garage/metal works area. Others haven't pulled a whole fight off this well.

3. No!- Best Editing, short, sweet, concise.
4. Imminent- Best sound, EVERYTHING was foley! Did everyone else know that?

5. No!- Best cinematography, 35mm film, great lighting, dollywork, everything.

6. See #1 on this list- Best Visual effects

4. Best sound- Imminent/No!
5. Best cinematography- No!

If someone's movie wins an oscar, it should show up as an oscar-shaped icon on the side of their posts by the admit one thingy.

Well, teaser trailer anyways biggrin

All this talk of oscars makes me want to relive the tale of when Crawling Space won the Surrey Oscars here in good ol England.

Makes me laugh, my Oscar is filled with sand!

My Trailer runs on TV... I WIN... heh wink

I've always had my troubles with "BEST X lists", since I think many films have a lot of different qualities to name one "the best" of all, no matter what cathegory. It's just not the way I think of films anymore.

So I'll leave posting lists to others I guess.

I think phrasing any of these kinds of things as "the best" is the wrong approach really. It's more accurate to describe it as "favourites". 'The best' implies there's some kind of scientific way to determine the best film, whereas with 'favourites' it's clearly just individual opinions.

All I have to say is that It's Coming is my favourite FXhome film of all time. smile

When it comes to the cinema, I'm not really that active.. I watch movies there sometimes, but not enough...

But if I had to highlight something, I'd say anything by Waser, and american idiots (1 and 2)
