i have noticed that people with alot of force seem to think there the best ... then i thought most of them are.. but i thought to my self what dol i get out of the force anything at all?.. well nothing but the gloating rights witch could get you hated. So i was going to have a little shout out to the fxhome team. Why not offer pizes to the people that earn the most force each week (not the people that buy products ) that would be hard to beat. But my point i i would like to get somthing out of force. I mean i was thinking even if i won the timmy d and miker action contest what would i get out of the force. Yeah sure i would be happy the first day but i wouldent care the next. I think this has been asked befour to open the shirts and fxhome stuff to people with force for free. I also think that if you made a movie get force OR get 5 force for ever 100 views of the movie. Because if you got more out of yhr force people will be trying to make more and there will probley be more helpfull post.

The "Forcepoints" are a fun gimmick, nothing more. They're free, they're fun for some people, meaningless for others.

Now if you'd attach "prizes" to that, who should pay real world money for that? And why?

I see your Schwartz is as big as mine.

A while ago Rawree discussed using force as 3dpalace uses pogs and it opens access to certain things. No however, I think force is left best as a fun thing because being active in the forum shouldn't be a requirement to get things and certainly material things that cost money.

Also, in no thread have I ever seen someone gloat about force. Some low force members are treated more respectible than members with much higher force. Just keep it fun. One (one, mind you) of the reasons I stuck with FXH as my main forum to post at was force when I first started (others included software support, cinema, skill improvement, awesome members, nice admins and mods, friendly in general.) Sorry about the length of my rant, but I'm done.

Yeah, I'd like to see where this is actually taking place.

Anyway, the person with the most force on FXHome is Schwar, and 2nd place goes to Tarn, and I would say that they are in fact the best. And I have the 24th most force, and I'd say I'm about the 24th best person here.

I can't say in 4 years of reading these forums that I've seen much, if any, evidence of this. Do you have any examples to back this up?

Force points are nice little way for your fellow FXhomers to acknowledge a post they've enjoyed/benefitted from. Nothing to get worked up about.

I did have someone once say to me on this forum that because my force was long he thought the films I made was bad in comparison.

No matter how long it, someone will always have a bigger one. sad

IMO, you might be a better filmmaker if you have more force. Not always, since some people buy all the products and stuff like that. But more force usually means that person has more positive ratings, which are from helpful posts. But again, this isn't always true. For example, many great movies on fxhome have been made by people with little force. That dosen't mean they are not good filmmakers, it might just mean they don't post often on the forums.

No one ever said force means anything in context to your filmmaking skills though.

You get force by submitting plugins/presets and by posting helpful things. If anything, force states you're either a vivid preset maker or a good AND frequent forum poster. That is all.

So people really see too much in it.

I'd like to take this time to announce that I am however, better than most of you.

I'd also like to remind the product owners among you that you ARE better than the average person. Those 200 force points earn you the right to call yourself an Fxhome User! Have some pride!

I'll give you 100 force if you write the whole song and then sing it with a non-vocal version playing in the background. This applies to anyone. No, make that 200 force.

I act high-and-mighty all the time, and if you don't average my +1s into my account, I've got the most -1s, or rather, negative force have you, on the entire site.

It's not a matter of anything but attitude, and one comes with everybody, force or not. I don't have to have 1000 force (which, well, I guess I already do, but forget that) to act like an elitist, as is true for the reverse of that.

Tarn, I was suggesting that, but if you and schwar deem it necisarry to have some sort of dvd-used-like-a-frisbee match to the death to prove who is truly superior, by all means I await the result.

Here's the catch: You can only use dvds of movies that have been directed by Eli Roth or Gore Verbinski. Now you know why you bought Mouse Hunt.

Or a certain book could come in the mail. That would nudge you in the upper position as well.

The only reason I have the force I do is due to the fact that I have been here since before FxHome was FxHome. The rest was given to me out of pitty for the help I gave many moons ago.
It's funny what happens to ones participation when they get married have kids, go back to school, and hold down a full time job. In other words what I am getting at is if you want to stay at FXhome all the time please refrain from the afore mentioned life changing decisions wink
Either that or give up sleep entirely.

It is good to know that Hybrid is now Master of the Mods around here. That guy never sleeps. biggrin

Just when I think I have read and heard it all... someone makes a song about this cool joint to the tune of Pokemon. Kick-Ash.

DigMedia, even though it's humorous, perhaps try creating your own song. I was planning on doing a music video to mine, but it's harder to do once you've sung it out.

Plus, that leaves me out 200 force and you with it for something, despite a SERIOUS ammount of courage and voice training, I created. smile

Still, that was funny.

My version

Lyrics:

I wanna be the very best, much like Atom

To win an Oscar is my true quest, and to look like Sollthar

I will travel across the world, searching for a place,

I'll teach you to understand, FXhome owns your face

(FXHOME!)

It's you and me,
It's my whole life, you see

(FXHOME!) Your my only friend,
In a world without a pen...

(FXHOME!)

The makers are young, they love chocolatey fun

You see me and i'll rate you

FXHOME!

Force is nothing, if you have fun on the forum then your right on track.

If people get competitive over force, just sit back and remember that the only difference between then and you is a 15x25pixel gif/png... and if that makes them happy, then aye... who’s the loser aye? heh

Travesty! He's the fxhomer/beta tester who created Project One, he did pretty much all the sound in post with a soundstudio as his only weapon.

To say we're all visual artists is a little constricting, fxhome homes film-makers of all sorts from stuntmen(flameboy) to people who only want to direct(ben3308), prosthetics(Mantra). Composers(sidbarnhoorn, robin, sharp). And so on...

I'd even say there were plenty of members who cross over severals walks of film production - for if that were not the case there would be few movies in the fxhome cinema. smile

But you're right, digerati really can't sing.

I knew I had forgotton to do something in making my point, and that was to add the composers here at fxhome.

Oh well, that invalidated my argument nevermind. smile

Though on that topic : It'd rock if one of the composers had a go at this. hehe.

So you're learning how to spell for fxhome, rather than for having the ability to convey yourself as something other than an utter idiot.

Awesome, you sir are a true fxhomer.

But not having force doesn't make you the best either.... Hey waser! I'm so much better then you cuz I have less force....Yeah its stupid, force means nothing in terms of film-making. I think it mostly show's how devoted you are to the forums. In my case, not very devoted I guess...I don't live on fxhome, sure, I check it occasionally for advice and what not. But its not my one and only social out-put. I geuss I try to remember that the earth still revolves around the sun.......not fxhome.
