Yeah, that's right. I guess they got the idea from the creators of Bryce (which is still free this week by the way)
but get this while you have the chance. You'll never know when you may need it. This is great for beginners, people with no previous 3d knowledge, or people who need to animate characters in a quick fashion. Sorry I didn't discover this a few days ago when it started. But today is the last day! I heard it's difficult to download it, but if you keep at it you'll find the link. Here it is, enjoy!
I'll edit here if I was able to install it.

+1 to you this morning, Serpent. You rock! I have successfully registered on the site, filled out all of the forms, and completed the transaction. Unfortunately the tool is saying that I can't currently download because the demand is so high, but that it will be available indefinitely in the "Mystuff" area, so I'll come back and keep trying later.
I already have Bryce5 installed, though I've not even begun to try to learn how to use it. But from other posts on these forums, I'm wondering if Poser isn't the better, or at least more user friendly, product anyway?
Again. Thanks. Great find and great link!

I have to sign up, but it needs my phone number and address. Is this safe? Why would it need to know that if the program is free?

You get the software free in exchange for joining their community. The whole point of the website is to try sell you additional content for the software they are giving away. There is some free content that they offer as well. But really, the whole signing up thing is what you are doing, and in exchange, they give you Poser.

I think when you add it to your cart it'll stay there until the download is ready. You've got nothing to lose, register, add it to your cart at $0.00 and keep having a go at it. Good luck though.
Also, just browsing through that site, some of the Poser renders look fantastic! I might do a bit of research once I have it.

another important point about this great offer is......if you want to buy the latest Poser 6 version you can update from your free one for just 129 dollars or £78.....i dont think they realise that they are now selling Poser 6 for just a fraction of its real cost.
To get your free one just reg and go to payout (as paying) and then you will be sent email with dlding instructions.'''but if you are thinking of buying update to Poser 6 u can just use serial number of poser 5 they supply b4 download...hehe..
wot its xmas already.

Anyone else having trouble registering?
I fill out all the information, and when I click submit it just refreshes the page.
I've tried it with both Firefox and IE, and still cannot join the site.

If I am right it looks like they stretched the deal for a few more days.
"Due to overwhelming demand we are extending this offer through Midnight Friday September 8th, 2006."
By the way this is yet another great find you have found Serpent +1

BTW the site is overwhelmed by demand by the looks of it so don,t
panic you'll get there. I tried myself last night (een though i already have Poser 6) just to see what happens. After trying for quite a while it eventually acknowledged my request with a message saying it had placed my order in my account (by registering)and will be available indefinitely to download when overload clears.
Poser and fxhome products are great partners you can conquer the universe with these. If you like to work with animation or just want to try it out go for it .
About 3yrs ago i tried Poser and loved it and I'm still in the relationship....don't want kids though...LOL

Got my copy early this morning (downloaded through the night 00:00-04:00 GMT).
A tip to try for downloading - the main links on the shopping basket page were giving an error message saying that there was too much demand and to try again later.
However when I clicked on the link to open the invoice for printing I noticed that there were two download links on the invoice itself. I clicked on these and the downloads started straight away. Maybe I was just lucky but it might be worth a try (well maybe if you are the first person before eveyone else reads this message and tries!).

Thanks for the info.
Just on a side note, DAZ is (has) having 90% off discounts on its new items. The sale is per one item and lasts 24 hours. Right now there is some cool Michael 3 armor for $2.50. And by the way Michael is free.

I got the two Poser files downloaded but the CD zip file says it is corrupted when I try to open it - has anyone else had this problem?

Sounds like it didn't download the whole thing. It's quite common on an overloaded site.
Still can't download. Looks like they've temporarily removed the Mystuff tab too, to dissuade people from downloading...

They removed the label...but the MyStuff tab is still there. It's the blue square a few rows down from your log in name on the left.
Rechecked my MyStuff and it says I got the Poser install file but not the CD Zip file (looks like I got dumped out around 2/3 of the way through). Still the site claims I can download it for free forever now so I can wait...

Be patient, as soon as the offer is over you'll still have acces to your download and serial. Once the activity slows down you should be able to get it easily. They are offering $80 software for free, the entire digital filmmaking community and 3d community will be jumping at this.
The downloads work now that the offer is over and the site appearance is back to normal. If you registered before last night it should work!
If you register now and missed out, Poser is $20 and they have a great site.
