I have made a meteorite effect but even i have to admit it's kind of cheesy, sort of cartoon-ish! I think FXHome needs more of the realistic meteor effects that are shown on example clips all over the site like on the old prducts page (< i don't know if they still have it)
and on the home page, whether they are made by the FXHOME Team or not!

i am trying to make some too but i understand that we all have are strengths a weaknesses on the particle engines, etc. so it would be nice to have a little help!

Take a look at how that meteor clip was created, on the VisionLab product page. It is mainly stock footage, not particles.

Not to say some good meteor presets would not be a good thing, but you might give the stock footage thing a try if you need a nice effect soon.

I just might try this as a next so called "preset challenge". Keep your eyes on the preset archive, and it might pop up during the next week. smile

I'm not sure were to find that kind of stock footage plus i believe that if it is possible on the particle engine then it could be better quality because you can adjust it to make it how you want.

P.S. didn't there used to be a really nice meteor smoke effect for vLab made by one of the team members that was very good quality and a nice dark thick smoke?
