Need help with footage for a music video!!!

Hey guys! I'm working on a music video for a band and I'm having a hard time finding people for filming two particular scenes that I need for a music video I'm doing (mainly because I work 15 hours a day unsure) Anyway, the two shots are really simple but I need a lot of people to do it. Below are the two shots I need:

Shot #1: This is a point of view shot that is supposed to be from a CD's point of view. Think of your cam as a CD. I need various shots of you finding the "CD" and reaching for it. An example might be -- under a pile of clothes. For this shot, you would hide your cam under some clothes and start recording. Move the clothes off the cam and reach down and grab the lens of the camera like it's the CD. Be as CREATIVE as you can (another shot I thought of would be to take the front cover off of a CD case and sit it on top of the camera, then flip it open like you're taking the CD out of it's holder). Once you grab the "CD", you can either pick up the cam like you're picking up the CD or just stop the tape. Do as many takes as you like and dress up as many different ways as you want to.

Shot #2: Wearing the same clothes you were wearing before, this time the shot is point of view from a CD player's point of view. Sit the cam down on a table or something. Start filming before you walk into the shot and let the tape run for about 5-10 seconds (this is important due to the effect I'm trying to achieve). Walk into the shot and slide the CD onto the top of the cam (like you're loading it into a player), then use your finger to touch the lens like it's the play button on the CD player. Basically what I want to do with this shot is to have you walk in, put the CD in and push play, then I'll transition between that shot and the blank space you recorded before walking into the shot and make it look like you're disappearing.

Get your friends! Film in droves! hehe.. I'll also see if I can get a copy of the band's newest CD for the person that does the most! If all this seems complicated, feel free to email me at mattdash1@attbi.com. I need as many different people as I can to do this so I can make this video the coolest! If you're really into this sort of thing, I also have a script that uses this basic idea -- I'd love for some people to take a shot at that too! If you want to take a look at the script, please email me with the subject as "script" and I'll ship it out to you.

Question: How do I get my footage to you?

Easy! You can do it the easy way: load it onto your computer and convert it to something adobe premiere likes (.mov, etc.) and send it to me or if it turns out to be a large file, email me and I'll give you access to my FTP server or use the file transfer feature of AOL IM (whatever's best for you!!). The only other way would be to mail it to me via post office -- if that's the only way you have, cool! Email me for my address.

This band is getting really big in the Chicago area and it'll be a great opportunity to have fun filming and possibly be shown in a video by a band that may be famous some day!! smile I hope to hear from you guys soon!! let me know if you have any questions..

Hey man..

Are you able to get the clips onto your computer and digitized? If so, I can just download them and put the clips you make into the video! If not, do you have miniDV? (that's what my cam is). If you do the footage, we'll find a way to work it into the video! I added you to my AOL IM so we can chat about it! At any rate, thanks for the post!! I appreciate the help!

I've had some people FTP their clips from dial-up, and even though it's nowhere near as fast as cable, the clips are usually 11 megs or so. If you want to do it, that shouldn't be so bad. Anyway, let me know if you do want to help -- I'll send you my FTP login info!

Hey, your music video project sounds cool, and I might try it out with my friend if I get the time. I was wondering, though, what is the band's name?

Hey sorry, I keep forgetting to tell my friend about it. Anyway, I'll email him to see if he wants to do it. If so, I can probably get it done soon, even though I'm working on a pretty big movie project.

Hey, sorry. My friend wasn't interested, and I have too much to do to be able to work on it alone. I hope someone else is able to help you.

Thanks to everyone that helped out (and hope to hear from a few more people so I can do it up like I want to!!) Later!!
