I have a layer in one project with a mask that took over 3 days to compleate, and i need the same sort of mask in a different project file.

How do I import one to the other?

Time is of the essence, im happy to give force to anyone who can help.

Thanks!

p.s. Gratz on the new office boys!

OK.
1 Open up the footage that doesn't have the mask.
2 Render it.
3 Open up the footage with the mask
4 Go to the media browser toolbox
5 "Right click" and and select import media
6 Select the previously rendered footage
7 Drag it into the timeline
8 Open up the mask option beneath its name
9 Go the the "masked footage" and "right click"
10 Select copy.
11 Paste the copied mask setting into the rendered footage
12 The End.

Does that answer your question.

Hello SyroVision. I would suggest saving the mask as a preset. Just as you would for any grading preset, right click the object that the mask is placed on, and select "Create preset...". Before you save, un-select every value found under "included filters, other than the mask.

This is done so that once the preset is applied, only the mask will be included, with out the preset retaining the quad and animation information of the original project, which would create problems if you animated the other quad, and do not wish for the new quad to animate, or if the new quad is a different size.

Give it a try.
Wizard.
