Anybody who has been on here for a while will remember two fellows by the name of Sidewinder and Mechaforce. They created films for the cinema and plugins for alamdv2 under the studio name Twisted Studios and had some of the top films on the site.

What the frick happened to these guys? Where did they go?

I can't even find all their old movies on the site anymore. I remember them selling a dvd and saying they were going off to college and stuff, but you would think that they would swing by the forums sometimes. They didn't die did they?

Sidewinder... Mechaforce... if you see this, please come back to us. frown

note: for the good of the site, If anyone has a copy of DXM or (especially) the making of DXM, I think we should reinstate these into the cinema. The younglings could learn a lesson or two from these films.

MechaForce is majoring (last time I heard) in some kind of complex science or something. Sidewinder comes by every once in a while but he's also busy with college. I'm sure they'll swing by at some point.

I bought their camera from them when they left. It's truly a godly thing to own. I am very glad I bought their DVD.

Most of their films are in the cinema. Just search under author: MechaForce or sidewinder.

Oh man, those were the days. AlamDV 2, wasn't it? I haven't been able to find a copy of DXM anywhere on the internet, but I have found a low res version of DXM and the making of somewhere on my old hard drive. I think I even have most of their Blowing Stuff Up series.

I think I have Niko (sidewinder) on my Xbox live friend's list, I should ask him how Red Sky and Concrete is going, or if it's going. heh

Yeah, their dvd rocked. Just wish it had commentary or something.
But shame on anyone who didn't get it. Even if you weren't on fxhome back then, that's no excuse. I saw Primer.....

I have a list of missed members (who either left or don't post often):

sidewinder
MechaForce
Aculag
LtMcMurphy
Hajiku_Flip
Billy3d
Rawree
Cypher
Slick
WiryPocketLint
wdy
and of course--darth_paul_goku

I probably left some out, but FXH is one of the only websites I get nostalgic about. Certainly the only forum.

I miss moebuis.

Sadly.. and seriously, I never managed to get a reply on email or anything after the tsunami, and he was from that areas as well.

He was great.

I think it'd be nice if we at least tried to find Moebius or find out what happened to him.

Mecha, sidewinder, Rawree, billy3d, and a few other people are the only ones that wish were still here. It seems like now only the 'newbs' (to me at least) like TimmyD, Klut, and miker (people that joined in late '04 or '05/'06) are the new regulars. At least I'm still on here, right? wink

Nope, Ben I don't know if you got the memo, but you were kicked out of the 'in' group until you finish that damn splinter cell movie. Atom too.

Ps. Who is this 'Marek'?

Heh, everyone quit that movie, so I dunno if it'll ever be finished. Oh, and Marek, you're cool, but there were times back in freshmen year when I confused you and Waser (similar spelling/number count), thinking you were only one person.

I don't think anyone will miss me when I'm gone, honestly. I should probably create another account when I buy Vision Lab. I don't know, I just always feel like I have a bad reputation.

Speaking of reputation. Please be courteous and don't look at my post history. wink

I wouldn't say that SWG; one can never know how others truly feel about them. It would be a shame to those who may feel they have gotten to know you, if you decide to create a new account for your VisionLab purchase.

You may have said or done things that you now feel was inappropriate, or did not receive the kind of reception you would have hoped, but I assure you, this is likely a more prominent feeling when you look back at your time at FXhome, than others remember.

Most people can appreciate the process of maturing, and becoming an individual. Although it was not long ago, you were quite young when you joined, and a lot can change with a person at that age, in a very short time.

This doesn't mean that anything you may have done is irrelevant, or insignificant. However, this does mean that, while you are still held accountable to some degree, you are also given a certain benefit of the doubt. Everyone eventually grows as a person, and this is not likely to happen with out making a few mistakes along the way.

Rather than making a new account, you can show how much you have grown. Your posts reflect the person you are in some way or another, and I can say that I have already noticed a difference of tone in yours. While I don't know if you will be "missed", I can say that every active member’s presence is felt, and to some degree, FXhome would be different with the absence of any one of us.

I realize with your humor, the majority of the sentiment in your post could have been insincere, but I didn't want to miss an opportunity to say something if you had been serious, and could have used some heartfelt words.

Take care.
Wizard.

Then I don't fall in that category wink

Seriously, I remember all the people who used to post regularly like:

Brettsta

billy3d (bless his heart)
Sidewinder
Mechaforce
Obi
Cutty201
Pooky (still around, but not as much)
4036Douglas
GeeksGoneBad
Serdar3500
Rawree (but he has returned!)
Slick

*sigh* Good times, good times

Rediscovered this topic during some research. It's interesting to see the ebb and flow of a community, how people increase and decrease in prominence. Also interesting to see that some of those assumed 'gone' in these lists have since returned.

To everybody still here, and everybody that has arrived since: thanks for your support! There's some great stuff ahead...

I dropped Waser an email recently: he's still alive! So no need to panic there, although it is a shame that his online presence has vanished, both from here and Facebook.

The most unfortunate part is Facebook. I quite enjoyed his drunken facebook chats every now and then a year or two ago. smile
