Would anybody be interested in a James Bond FanFilm? Since the release of Casino Royale, I've really gotten fired up over James Bond. If so, I would love to do one. Any plot ideas or suggestions would be awesome!!

Just for further info.

I would be using a Panasonic DVX100b for the filming.

If anybody is in the North Carolina area (WS) and would like to help just let me know.

I think that would be hard to do, i wish you luck but the way I see a james bond fan film would be someone going around in bow tie, you wouldn't be able to get the gadgets or the stunts so in the end you left with a guy wandering around and that would make it hard to viewers to want to watch it.

Put it this way if i said i've made a james bond film with no budget would you really want to see it?

I really hope I'm wrong and wish you all the best.

I've got a list here of 13 other james bond fan films,

I agree with you that it would be hard, but I wouldn't be making a huge film. Maybe just like a 15-20 minute "Broken Allegiance" style film.
I would like to do a chase sequence, some good dialogue, a few gadgets, and a small plot. This would basically just be a film to test my Special FX limits. Since I am younger (I plan on playing Bond), it would be a story about Bond before he reaches his "00" status. Anyway, you can see some of my other short film/acting escapades on a short series a friend of mine did. (I filmed and acted *im the main hero, tom callahan*) the series is called Trapped and you can view the episodes at www.vidilife.com. search for Trapped on the search bar. excuse the poor car chase effects, it was our first attempt at filmmaking (an action/suspense genre)

Thanks for the reply and your interest! If you have any further suggestions please let me know.

By the way, are you associated with FanFilms.net?

I assume you used fake muzzle flashes for your short...they looked pretty good.

I'm not part of fanfilms.net but I have a LOT of my fanfilms on there, it's interesting to note what films gets the most views, it's a good place to learn what works and don't work.

But isn't the bond movies about bond being a 00 agent? Sure he was a MI-6 agent before, but he hadn't killed anyone yet at the prelude. You can go further in the prelude of Casino Royale of how he got his first two kills. sure they showed them in the movie but go deeper that lead him to that point.

You don't need to kill anyone. Plus you could also take 'having no kills on record' as meaning 'no official assassinations'. In any case, if the film would be set in Bond's youth then it's unlikely he would kill anyone; you could just subdue enemies in a cool fashion.

I myself am writing a Bond-esque script (not actually Bond, though) at the moment, but I have been very careful to make sure that the agent doesn't actually kill anyone himself. And the agent would be aged around 18-20, so he's no kid at school.

There are books about Bond's time at Eton school; way before he became any kind of agent. I haven't actually read them, as they're aimed at around 10-14 year olds I believe, and not written by Ian Fleming either.

I'm doing him as a "00", and he will definitely killing people. All I will tell you'all is that the plot will involve a villain who wants to take over America...by releasing the smallpox virus. If successful he could kill millions. I plan to make it about 30-35 minutes long.

As soon as we get farther into production, I'll release "behind-the-scenes" footage and also unveil the poster. I hope you'all will like it when it's finished. I'm trying to get some cool stuff in it.

Thanks,

Garrett Livengood

They're actually quite well-written, by Charlie Higson (Ralph in The Fast Show), but they were sort of dwarfed by the Stormbreaker series of books by Anthony Horowitz.
The first "Young Bond" novel is called Silverfin, about some mad scottish villain.

I'd suggest you watch On Her Majesty's Secret Service, where Bond has to stop Blofeld from releasing a virus which will devastate the world unless his demands are met.
Also worth a look is Mission: Impossible II

Do you guys like the basic plot? I saw FX do a series on smallpox and how many it could kill, that's what gave me the idea. Also, do you'all think I will pass as a Bond? (you can see a picture of me at www.goldwingproductions.com)

Thanks,

Garrett Livengood

P.S. What did you'all think of my first series I was in, "Trapped"? If you haven't seen it, search for Trapped on www.vidilife.com. There are three chapters. (excuse the cheesy car chase, it was my first attempt at green screening.

I recently saw "Da Ali G Show" episode where Ali G talks to a bunch of studio executives about his brillaint idea for a show, and shows them a tape where he "portrays" james bond. The whole thing is horribly acted, pretty much it turned out like any film would when you have a bunch of friends who don't care about making a quality movie. lol

Brilliant plot. 007 is transported to a space ship in space where he is then confronted by jedis, who then teach him the way of the jedi, and then.... I'll shut up now smile

Do you all like the name "Variola" for the Bond film? It has to do with the smallpox plot.

I plan to start filming the Bond film as soon as I build my jib. I will be playing Bond and I plan to have some really cool stunts in the film. All I can tell you right now is that we will have an elaborate chase scene, plenty of gunfights/hand-to-hand combat, and hopefully some engaging dialogue and plot. I hope you all like it! I will release a poster and trailer as soon as possible

here is a concept teaser poster that I will put up on my site. keep in mind we are in early pre-production, so nothing too elaborate.

think It might work. but it doesn't matter about the looks. all that matters is if you can act like bond. I like the pictures where did you take them?

This sounds funny, but I actually took these pictures at my grandma's house. I didn't expect them to come out that clear. I figured out how to render my DVX at its full potential.
