You can replicate it with this preset, but not in Effectslab Lite.
The filter is using the displacement map, which the Lite versions don't have.

Or else, you can duplicate your footage on the timeline, add a grade filter, for example "Waves", mask out your heat beam, put on some feather and invert the shape.

The footage you do this to, has to be on top.

That should work in Effectslab Lite, but I don't think it would be as good as the preset with displacement map.

heh, glad you liked my video! actually, i didn't use elab for the displacement in that shot, as I just have Elab lite. I used the "mirage" filter in an NLE called Pinnacle Studio. Elab was used to make the glowing eyes, and Clab was used to make the mirage filter into beam shapes using masks, (kind of like what Pyromarius said) as well as some grading on the mirage layer to make it a little brighter and slightly orange.

if u dont mind me asking where did u get the super speed sound i had it b4 when i did my super speed clip but i lost it sad

All the sound effects in that clip were taken from the DVDs. I think the Superspeed sound is from "Lineage" in season 2. I've got a bit of a collection of Smallville sounds, it you like, I could e-mail them or something.
