I saw Click in theatres, and while I was expecting some slapstick Adam Sandler comedy, I got a thrilling, sad, dramatic movie.

Australian Chocolate (not quite as good as Belgian chocolate, but at least the label is in English smile)
150 AUD (which, if my parents agree, i'm going to use to half pay for an Obi-Wan Episode III Limited Edition lightsaber from Master Replicas)

The sucky thing is: my Belgian host family don't give presents on Christmas. BUT a good present is that they have taken me in and keep feeding me smile

Okay, updates. I got....

-Two polos from the GAP (black and light blue)

-an argyle Ralph Lauren pullover jacket

-some Armor-All cleaning stuff for my car (three days after it gets crashed into, at that!)

-and a video iPod

Funnny thing is, my parents went to stores and split up to get my family's gifts. My dad returned to the car with a brown Zune and my mom with a white iPod.

My mom felt the iPod was a better choice. I'm not so sure. wink

In a completely unexpected twist, I got a Fender acoustic guitar that's left handed (I have a right-handed one from like 10 years ago that I never play and an electric one), a "Learn to play Guitar" book, a guitar stand, picks, and some clothes.

I'm kind of indifferent about it all right now, as I have expressed no interest in guitar for maybe 4 or 5 years, (and happen to have found more interest in *cough*filmmaking*cough*) but still very, very grateful.

Plus, last year I got a PSP, a Sony Ericcson 660i, a Canon GL2 and case, and a wide angle lens.

Technically, it's only for when we go places and need a phone to call parents or something. In that respect, it's shared. But otherwise, it's usually in my pocket.

The big item was Adobe. (Bye bye Windows Movie Maker and .wmv files)

Second big item was a wide angle lens for my movie camera. (I picked that one out myself to make sure it was compatible with the camera, sent them a link so they could order the exact one.)

Big box of blank miniDV tapes.

Money to get a mic (since the people who were going to get it for me couldn't figure out the whole RODE Videomic puzzle, but hey, that's cool.)

The following DVDs:

Goodfellas special two disc edition
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
The Bogie and Bacall Signature Collection which includes To Have And Have Not, The Big Sleep, Key Largo, and Dark Passage.

I had several of these on VHS, but the tapes were wearing out (and in some cases already broken) so I asked for them on DVD. Though I actually didn't have a copy of Dark Passage before.

17-40 f/4.0L Lens (Hell yes)
Yoshi's Island DS
Pants
PotC 2 Disc Special Edition
Dyna-Flex Powerball
KingMax Thumb drive (512 mb, ridiculously small and thin)
Money

With the money I'll be financing a microphone, a homemade jib, some clothes, and maybe a couple of games. I should have a bit left over for gas and food/movies for a while.

I am glad to see everyone had an excellent turn out this year. Although not as much in the way of extravagant presents, Christmas was good to me as well. After spending the last couple of nights having dinner made for me at various peoples houses, it was my turn to make a large dinner for Christmas night, and I had a great time with the ones close to me.

For gifts, I received a large selection of clothes, chocolates, and some money as well. I suppose once you reach a certain age, others feel more inclined to send clothes, or "practical" items as gifts for Christmas. Its true that many tend to appreciate clothes more, once they are paying bills, and purchasing their own clothes, but I like to think that one is never too old to receive "gadgets/toys", so to speak.

I very much enjoy the clothes sent to me, and appreciate the thought put into them, but I can't say I didn't have that familiar inner voice saying "please be a remote control vehicle", or something to that effect. It is also true that, as you get older, the "gadgets" you would like to receive often become more expensive, and much harder for others to simply buy for you.

In any event, I had a great holiday this year, and most importantly of all, enjoyed my much needed time off of work. I also recently bought myself an expensive piece of work out equipment, which is convenient, as I undoubtedly ate an unhealthy amount of food over the past few days.

Congratulations on your camera, jgtrox2. However, this is not exactly the most appropriate place to inquire about this. I suggest creating a topic in the Filmmaker's Forum, where you are likely to receive a better response. Before doing so, I suggest searching the forums, to see if your question has been answered before.

After a quick look, I was able to locate this topic, which may provide you some insight into hard drive cameras.

Take care.
Wizard.

Just Friends was a completely underrated and hilairious movie.

I got silly puddy, which still I am continually amazed at how long I can still entertain myself with.

I also recieved a promise that some time, eventually, if I omit presents for enough birthdays and Christmases, and I save all of my babysitting and chore money, I may recieve a Canon XH-A1. And it would be worth it.

My Christmas was fairly succesful. For one, I got the Nintendo Wii, two extra controllers for it (three if you count the Classic Controller I received). Nunchucks, of course, accopanied all of the controllers. For games, I got Red Steel, Madden '07, Need For Speed Carbon, Excite Truck, Legend of Zelda, and Call of Duty 3. I also got two (1GB) SD memory cards for it. I did get countless other smaller items as well, but the Wii was really my central gift. And believe me, it lives up to that reputation.
