I am using the shotgun blast muzzle flash in my current movie and have a few clips with some repeated shooting. I am concerned that the muzzle flashes will all look identical and so spoil the illusion to some extent. What can I do?

I couldn't see a random element slider in the settings for this effect like some effects have. Should I vary the size of the effect for different instances or would varying the colour give a better look? Or something else?

Any tips would be gratefully accepted!

A couple suggestions.

Vary the color a little, but not too much. Stick with yellow/orange coloring. Put a different amount of frames in between each effect, if you ask me, it makes it more realistic. And maybe change the size a little. Hope this helps out.razz

All you have to do is change the seed. There are like 15,000 settings to choose from, and each is a totally random variation from all the others.

For some effects though, check to see if the seed is keyframed to change already. If so, you may need to change all the keyframes.
