Are there any realistic fire effects in EffectsLab that will make it look like a building is on fire?

All over the place. But if your having trouble finding one that is somewhat specific, try looking at the Text Tutorial for creating fire. Also, depending on the situation, I would think that if the whole building is in flames you may want a few seperate ones (i.e. One coming out of a window, one from the roof, etc.)

Yeah, I need the outside of a small bar to appear as if it is burning. I also need some interior fire effects for the inside burning as well.

Check out Axeman's Realistic Fire Tutorial which uses the particle engine.

Also I would suggest using stock footage. If you don't have money to buy any:

Some of those, particularly Sollthar's Burning Ground image streams can look quite believable if composited properly, especially perhaps with some particle smoke.
Hope this helps

What is with the "Award" thing above the download button. Can I only download that stuff if I have some kind of "Gold award"?

No, that's just an award for the plugin itself.

Okay thanks.

Now just one last question.

I read part of it earlier but I can seem to find it. Can you point me in the direction for the tutorial on how to convert Alam DV presets to EffectsLab?

Here you go. For future reference, all of the tutorials are in a sticky at the top of the EffectsLab forum, titled "EffectsLab Tutorials." Essentially, there is no conversion that needs to take place for the AlamDV plug-ins. You simply select Import image stream... from within Elab, and select the image sequence from the plug-in you need.

The awards for presets are just a gauge of the quality of the presets themselves. If you take two muzzle flashes, one with a gold award will look better, more realistic, than one with a bronze award.

How come the demo comes with all those presets and the full version doesn't?

Hmm... If I recall correctly, it should. But if you really need to, you can just download the ones you want from the Fxpreset Library under the "Downloads" section. Try using the "cart" or whatever its called, to download a batch of them at a time.

Or you can download all from within the program itself.

The full version does come with a lot of presets. Try a clean installation following these instructions and see if that resolves the issue.
