I have noticed that several people (including me) have come up with errors related to large files, and i believe that the error comes from a timeout, possibly could you trap this error and give it a nice 'friendly' error message, hopefully this would also allow most users to fix it themselves.

Could you provide some more details please, as we're not actually aware of anybody having problems with large files. Are you referring to large project files, large video files? By 'large' do you mean in resolution, or filesize, or duration?
We've used many large files (both in terms of resolution, duration and filesize) and not run into any problems and we don't have anything on file as an existing problem that other people are having, so if you could give us some more details on what exactly the problem is we'll take a look.

someone had a problem with a resoloution as he fixed his problem by donwsizing his image, i had a length problem with my video, it was 45mins and about 9 GB (AVI), i fixed mine by splitting the video into smaller parts using a third party file splitter. I think both were with project files, i know mine was. I think its mainly to do with filesize and/or duration.
Or i could just be shooting at air :p, i like to try and be helpful as i work as a software tester.
