So, your bands music video made it on Nickelodeon? Mind providing a little context as to how it appeared?

Nickelodeon must be pretty starved for material. How come your "band" is just you?
Also... You say it was the best day of your life and your bands name "got out there" but you just can't take all these hunnies trying to get up on that? Some band you are...

This is the kind of statement that, on these internets, needs to be proven to be believed. Show me your recording of the broadcast.

i dont have the recording.
I no you will think this is stupid. But i actually missed it, people started sending me messages that i was on tv all the way from ohio and i live in north carolina. But if its legal to show you the contract. if i still have it saved i will show you

I predict you will go and find the contract, only to discover that it is illegal to show it on FXHome.com. I like it when things like this happen.

Well in that case i dont have any proof. You people have no clue how mean you are. I can tolerate it. But forreal average people like me only have a limit to what they can achive. I thought someone would say good job or glad you made it on tv and got your bands name out. But mabey that was a reason i left this site. I mean i said i was on tv and the first thing someone said was "wheres the proof".
I mean come on you really dont need to be so rude
Edit: Well atleast i got one nice comment

Come on, now. You seriously cannot claim to have been on television and not be able to back it up at ALL! It's not being rude to ask you to prove it, that's being curious.
jgtrox2 wrote:But forreal average people like me only have a limit to what they can achive.
With an attitude like that, maybe. Take a look at any great artist or musician or filmmaker. When they were 12/13, I'm sure they were pretty average too. So what you really mean is "A little kid like me has a limit to what I can achieve on my own". And achievement does not include posting on the internet telling people you were on TV.

I don't think its too outragous a claim. Nickelodean and trouble and all those channels are often showing people's videos. Give the guy a break.

accually, I happedned to be bored yesterday and put Nick on. They had this thing called MeTV, where you could enter in video and they would ply it in the next couple of hours between shows. I din't see jgtrox, but I saw a couple of other short videos that looked like someone made them in a matter of seconds.

Ya. I no it wasn't the best, and that nick might not show something like that. But he is, idk, 12/13 and Nick takes anything created by kids. I see stuff like that all the time, or drawings, and they sumtimes are not even close to being good, but they show it anyway. And it wouldn't be that hard to believe a music video cause they have this new stupid show called like the naked brothers band and stuff. Now onto the video.
It was alright. it seemed to me that the singing was a bit off sync at times. The camera angles could be better at time. You could tell that you put a peice of plastic in front of the camera lense when you had the rain drops drip onto it, because the plastic kept moving, or glass, or whatever you used. I found that it was kind of repetative too.
Now I did think you did a reasonably well job for the rain. And I think the mood fit the song, but just like anything, it could use some work.
But good job anyway, getting on t and all. Wish I could lol.

Well, congrats for getting on, if you legitimately did. I was asking how the clip was shown, ie. as a subset of a certain program, which I guess must be "MeTV."

See, this works for me. Just saying "lol i wuz on tv" doesn't say much, but giving a specific program or something like that makes the claim at least somewhat more viable.

jgtrox, man, congratulations. I gotta say, reading the thread title and seeing it came from you made me laugh out loud. But once I watched it, not only was the song decent (which is more than I can say for about half the well-made DV-shot music videos I've been studying lately) but the video was a serious step up from what I've seen form you before. This time you even had widescreen, hallelujah! It's not the best, but it's certainly passable and I can see how Nick would feature it on one of those "MeTV" or a "CHECK this Kid Out!" 5 minute segment. Hell, if they can showcase a kid whose talent is being able to write really, really fast, I'm sure you could've made it on as well.
On another note, here's something I hate: People under 14 desperately trying to utilize MySpace. It's like a retard trying to fondle a doorknob- it just doesn't work.

Congratulations on your TV debut
I don't know why you were given such an undeservedly hard time here - I don't see that happen here often and it was disappointing in this case as encouragement would have been more appropriate. Anyway, I thought the song was great and the video well done, especially if you had a very short time to produce it.
You now have something to put on your CV when it comes time for you to look for a job.

Why is it "illegal" to show a contract to us? I'm not saying that you should have to prove anything- I really don't care- I congratulate you- I just don't understand why it would be "illegal" to show a contract to the forum.

No one ever actually said it was illegal, and I was being sarcastic when I said he'd find it and claim it to be illegal. Apparently he took that as meaning it was actually illegal.

I dont think Aculag was really intending to be mean at all. Its just a lot of people could make a music video, post it on the internet, and say it was on TV. Im not saying you are lying or anything but I am just explaining that Aculag probably wanted proof just to make sure.
Anyways congrats on making the music video and having it on Nick!
and BTW how did you go about getting them to put it on Nick. I mean did you enter you name and video at Nick.com or something??

Congratulations on getting your song on television.
I, too, am disappointed in what a hard time you were given over this. I'm sure it was very exciting for you.
By the way, have you decided yet on whether you're going to marry that girl? Or just take your chances that she won't really try to kill you? lol : )

ACULAG: You kinda come off as some sort of prick. Give the kid a break. He did a pretty good job. Instead of acting like an ass, give some constructive criticism (if you actually have some relevant thoughts) but to call him a liar just seems like you're starting trouble.

God, aculag is not a prick. I think he had right to believe so what he did. People talk all the time, and say they have done this, I for one, know people real well who do this stuff and say they go it aired on tv. It is even harder to believe when 12/13 year old says so. Not to mention, no offense, it was not the best I have ever seen, but that doesn't mean it is still not good. Many people on this site try to get their shorts on tv, and they are good, but they aren't aired, so when one not nearly as good shows up, and is claimed to be on tv, people in disbelief and sometimes jelousy can't believe it. But Aculag did not need much proof, for as you saw, when one person says Nick is having Metv and he saw some on their, he accepted it and moved on. SO please, stop giving Aculag crap, or this kid crap, and sure as hell don't start giving me crap. plz?
that is all.

I've honestly never seen such a young effort at a music video before and was a little surprised that both the song and video show some definite promise. It's hard to really strike a comparison between this and a lot of the material on the website here which is fair - so I won't attempt to.
Congratulations on your TV Debut jgtrox. Let's hope it's only the first of many.
