If you are having strange error messages on startup, please try performing a clean install of VisionLab Studio using the following procedures:

Note: Always install and run the program for the first time from an admin account, so that you have full access to your computer system.

There are several things to check:

* Install the software to an account on your computer that has full administrator permissions and access.
* Run the software from the same account it is installed to.
* Disable the 'FileVault' system (Mac only).
* Try fixing your permissions using Disk Utility (Mac only).

PC users

1. Uninstall the program.

2. Delete the 'FXhome' folder in your 'My Documents'.

3. Delete this folder:

• Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\VisionLab Studio 1.5

• Vista or Windows 7:
C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\VisionLab Studio 1.5

Note: This folder may be hidden, in which case you'll need to have it displayed using your Folder Options, available in the Control Panel.

4. Important: Re-download the latest installer from your My Programs page at FXhome.com.

5. Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX installed.

6. Make sure you have the latest version of Quicktime installed.

7. Run the installer and follow the instructions to activate your product.

Mac users

1. Delete the program from your "Application" folder.

2. Go to your "Home" folder then "Documents" and delete the "FXhome" folder.

3. Go back to your "Home" folder and then in to "Library" and then "Preferences". Delete the "VisionLab Studio 1.5" folder.

4. Important: Re-download the latest installer from your My Programs page at FXhome.com.

5. Make sure you have the latest version of Quicktime installed.

6. Run the installer and follow the instructions to activate your product.

Clean uninstall for WIndows Vista users:

1. Uninstall the program.

2. Delete the 'FXhome' folder in 'Documents'

3. Delete this folder: (mine is in French, but I think I've translated everything properly)

C:/Users/<your_user_name_here>/AppData/Local/VisionLab Studio 1.5

And then the rest is the same.

Uh, what same problem? This thread is about clean re-install instruction, not about any particular problem. If you can find a thread that discusses your same problem, post there. Otherwise start a new thread describing your problem in detail and we will help you get it sorted out.

I know you get this question a lot, but I get that <void> message whenever I open VisionLab Studio - I have been trying to do the clean re-installing, and I've installed the latest DirectX 10 and QuickTime, but it still doesn't work >.<

We use Vista machines in the office here and I also have a Vista machine at home and we haven't encountered any problems.

As long as you're up-to-date with everything follow the instructions at the start of this topic you should be fine.

The important thing is to check your account. One test you can try is to create a new administrator account on your computer and install to that. If it works fine then you know something is broken or set up wrong in your normal account.

If you bought the software rather than running a pirate copy of it, you wouldn't have to make do with such an ANCIENT version. You'd then be able to download the latest updates.

It's up to you.

As you're running Windows 7, are you sure you have the latest version of Visionlab Studio that was released a few weeks ago? What version are you running?

Hmmm..I don't see the image, if you did put it up. If you need a way to put it up try a site lock www.imageshack.com it'll host your image for free. The copy the url into your message. The [img] code isn't necessary.

If you have a project file and when you opening the file take this error message: "Macromedia Projector has stoped working.", follow the instructions:
- c:\Users\Documents\FXhome\VisionLab Studio 1.5\cache\ and here search your project images. Delete all .tga files, excepted poster_ files.

Good Luck!
