Edit: Much easier than reading that HUGE thing I had here, here's a direct link to the most recent version of the script. Updated Daily, whether it be one spelling error or 10 pages. Almost always the latter.

Reign of Destiny

What does everyone think, if you've read it? Questions, comments, flames, I'll take it all!

Hehehe. In the same town the movie is based. A very small town called Broken Hill, on the border of New South Wales and South Australia. In Australia, obviously.

Help would be appreciated, and even if you give me just a line in the script, it'll still ensure you a big spot in the credits.

If you'd like, I could PM you the basic story.

I'm guessing your probably a similar age to me also? In the teens? If so that'd be great biggrin more imagination he he

15 years old. I'll write up the basic story, and I'll pm it to you and Silver Dragon. I'm very picky as to what goes in and how things go, but input would be GREAT.

Just a few basic things that need to be filled in, some odds and ends, some origins, holes that need to be patched up to make the story solid. The actors are assembled, and know basically what parts they'll be playing, and they're great actors, including myself. I couldn't believe how blessed I was with all these great actors.

I'll get right on it. Any more comments?

Don't forget, the script's not done yet! Not even half way. I've just got the basic story down. I'm still missing quite a bit.

Props - Still working on the sabers. I need around 30 of them. About 25 need to be able to separate in some way, as in to be cut or broken in half.

Crystals are a little harder. I've got some base ideas as to what to do for them. Like get some clear quartz, and give it a VERY fine misting of blue, red, green, purple, etc, so it looks as though that's it's natural colour. The glow is all lights, of course.

I need 25 similar jedi robes, and one original robe.

Effects - Sadly, although I'd love to use VisionLab, I don't have it. Instead, I have a copy of After Effects Pro, bought as a gift for my 15th. I nearly exploded at [Unnamed Person] for not getting me VisionLab. (VisionLab>After Effects Pro).

I've got all the materials for any laser ground/wall hits. I'm still trying to figure out how RVD2 did their wall cuts and melts.

I know all about proper dismemberment with Lightsabers, the physics of Sabers, Blasters, etc. But you've gotta remember, this isn't Star Wars, so the Sabers and (If there are any) Blasters behave more realistically than they do in Star Wars.

That's about it.

Still would like more comments. =D

(Am about a quarter through writing up that basic story. It's big.)

Sorry guys, It's taking FAR longer than anticipated to write this up.

More of the movie comes to me as I write, so it just gets bigger and bigger.

I'm about... Almost a full quarter through.

Hey there, Rogue53. Though I am currently in Development/Pre-Production on my own film, I think I'll be able to help you out with any VisualFX that you need... as long as it's realistic. And if you intend to use an artificial background, use a greenscreen. You can make your own by getting some tarp (or other fabric), and paint it a solid green color...

Or, if you have a bit of a higher budget, then you can get some top-quality screens at www.eefx.com

But otherise, PM me if you need any help when you are in the stages of Post-Production and editing the film... smile

KoB, Thanks for the offer, and the advice. If I hit any snags, I'll let you know.

Fxmaniac, I've got SilverDragon7, and Scribble07 having a look at what I think is maybe... First half hour? And I'll wait for them to respond, see what they think, then I'll send a copy to you. K? K.

Woah, slow down there, sport. I'm still just starting to write this thing. No where near post-pro. But have you ever watched Star Gate? The things they call Star Gates, they have a nice little liquid effect. Google it, and have a look. Just type Star Gate into Google images. You'll know it when you see it.

Good to see another SG fan. I'm looking for something similar. No opening effect, just a VERY light ripple, maybe you could make it look like the wind makes it ripple, and ditto when someone touches or steps through it. For colour, I'd say close to the original, but a hint of purple.

Alright so let me get this straight:

You want:

The Stargate effect when it is just the rippiling water in the gate.
But you dont want it to ripple too much, more like a slight wind.
When someone touches it or steps through it you want it to ripple as if there body is interacting with it.
And like the original blue hue, but with a slight purple?

Is that the baisics? Correct me on anything you need. Also if there is any other effects you want me to try, let me know. Good showreel fillers razz

That's it. To a tea. Basically, if it was inside, it'd be still, but because it'll be outside, it'll ripple from the wind. That's it so far.

It might not seem much to all of you, but my script just hit 50 pages. There'll be an estimated 50 more pages to come.

I'll upload the script to Project Central, via Celtx, my scriptwriting software. I really do recommend it, as it makes writing SO much quicker. Things such as props, locations, vehicles and general what-have-you aren't updated, so don't worry.

It's BIG, so be warned, but DO TELL me what you think of it.

You read the whole thing? Wow. Thank you very much. I'm not a professional scriptwriter, but you saying that makes me feel like one.

I will tell you something that'll make this seem even better.

After watching RVD2, I wanted to make a lightsaber vid, then I thought 'Aww hell with it, I'll make a Star Wars movie.'

I researched up some SW, and found that in order for a SW fanfilm to be successful, it needs to adhere to STRICT rules, so I thought "F that, I'll make my OWN movie".

As previously mentioned, it's got a lot to go, so I'll post updates every 10-20 pages or so. 20 pages might take me... 2 days.

Oh! Please do tell me any quotes you liked, or any scenes you favour. Everyone do tell, please.

The actors are my friends. All of them. Except 'Jethro' and any of the miscellaneous men and women. They're friends of my parents that fit the parts.

Bal is me, by the way. I'm working on a poster, so I'll set it up when I'm done. For 15 yr olds, we're quite aged-looking.

I'm 179cm, 105kg of muscle, so I'm pretty big, but I'm damn fast. Matt, (Andrew Sidford) is like 184cm, and maybe 70kg. Lean, muscular, blonde limp hair. Alyx (Meg McMahon) is (hopefully) as sexy as I've described her. She's 177cm, thin, great curves, and she looks strong.

I'll put a pic up as soon as I can.

An Idea I had about the sabers was something sort of like this:

Steampunk Vader

See, his saber is all wispy and more like a burst ending at a point, like light would most likely be. I'm still going with the classic neon light, but maybe a little flame or wisp of smoke to make it cooler.

Working on the next few pages. Should have two... maybe three done tonight. Or today wherever you are.

4 weeks, 4 days, exactly. I'm in Australia.

I'm nearing the end of the draft of the script. I'll be writing it up into Celtx soon, and then I'll up load it. What you're reading IS a draft, but a well-revised one. Once I hit the end, I'll be going over and over it, checking for any loose ends, or things that just don't make sense.

I'll do that... 5 times through. Making sure it makes complete sense, and that it ties in well to the SECOND one. I'll also be checking back to my basic storyline/timeline to see if I've gotten all the relevant information in.

It's gonna be a trilogy.

Personally I feel you could improve the opening a bit - is it possible to establish your characters and their situations without them telling one another verbally? For instance (and only you can know for sure), are the following 2 lines redundant? Could you establish the same information with a little more intrigue through the use of looks/other dialogue?

MATT
Listen, we didn't steal anything! It wasn't-

MAN #1
You DID steal from me, and now I want back what's mine.

The reason I ask is that the first page of a script is crucial, as if it ends on a cliffhanger, the reader has to turn the page, which is what you want them to do. Page 10 is also critical for this, as it's the second natural stop point for a script (if it isn't holding the attention by p10, it's a non-starter). Looks good fun to make, though, and I'm looking forward to seeing your results smile

Good of you to point that out. After re-reading it, it does seem a bit... bad...

What about:

Matt

We didn't-

Man #1

Just shut up and give me the bag. I'm sick of you boys. I think it's time someone put you down.

Bal

Not today. NOW!

How's that?

Edit: Just read through 1-10, and I think with that change, it seems to fit well. 1 makes you think 'What the heck are they doing?', and 10 makes you think 'Aww, they went to so much trouble to get them, how are they gonna survive now?"

Yes? No?

I JUST went through and did a few sentences, making sure it flowed well and followed story.

In my text-doc draft, I've written, today alone, a good 10-15 pages. I'll start on them NOW, and should have them up soon. I'll post when they're up.

The new parts will require severe continuity checking, but apart from that, It should be up within the next few hours.

Anyone else reading it? Or do I just have 1 fan? =P

Sadly not an update post. Just got back from a vacation.

Tell me something, FXHome people... Do you not like my script?

I sent a few messages out to some people, and it's been almost 2 weeks and I've yet to receive a reply. I post constantly in this thread to try and gain awareness, but does no one want to read it? Or have you read it and just don't want to comment?

Please, someone apart from my devoted fan, Fxmaniac, send me some feedback.
