Need help with using layers [ANSWER]

I cant find out how to get to the layer screen and dont know how to use

Click on the media in your timeline. Then on the far right side of the screen there should appear "attributes". The fourth option down is "Composite" and under that tab there are many options. One of the last options is "Screen". Note: Many of these different "composites" take on more of an effect when you have layers of media (Instead of just one movie)

Anything on your timeline is media. The timeline consists of layers of media. Click on any of the names at the left of the timeline to select that layer.

They should help you familiarize yourself with the program.
