I am in the process of making a lightsaber fight movie, and I'm having a problem. In the film, a lightsaber is supposed to cut off my lower legs. I filmed me acting like they were cut off, and then filmed with no one in the scene. But I have no idea on how to make the effect of my legs being cut off. Does anyone have a tutorial or something to show me how? Thanks.

well if you want to see the legs falling off that will be tricky, i think you'll have to take to shots one with you standing up and one with you falling down, then composite them together.

There is a tutorial for this, somewhere... here: http://fxhome.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=24055 I dont know what product you're using, but even though it says it is for CompositeLab, I believe all the steps could work for effectslab as well.

You may have to get creative to try and apply this to legs.

you could just film it then film a clean Background plate and mask out the legs.
