Hi people,
I don't think anyone's suggested this yet.
If they have; sorry I didn't see.

I've been using CLpro and FXpro for about 8 weeks now, and I think it's amazing. I have after effects as well, and I'd chose FXhome over it any day. The only advantage I feel adobe has is the amount of users. The tutorials on this site and all the forums etc are a great help, but it would be nice to see more.

The only way I found out about FXhome was through Digital Video Magazine that I buy, I hadn't even heard of FXhome before. But I'm sure that just like me, if more people had heard of it they'd be just as eager to buy it as I was.
Obviously it's far easier to say than do, but it would be great to see more publicity about the software. More publicity = more users. More users = far more tutorials and a greater community, which = more users.

Ok, pretty obvious suggestion, and I'm sure you're doing the best you can to get your product out there, but such a great product deserves more buzz! smile

More users sound good to me. wink

We've done quite a bit of publicity over the last few months, primarily in UK and European magazines, both with reviews and direct advertising. However, as we're a small company we're not able to afford the kind of blanket coverage you see from companies like Adobe or Microsoft. That's why we rely a lot on you guys to spread the word. smile

I got very jealous if Blizzard's 4-page, fold-out Burning Crusade magazine advert. One day we'll have something like that! razz

Yeah it's a shame that you can't get that same level of publicity. But I think you're going about selling your product the right way; keeping the product cheap, maybe not necessarily getting the same level of publicity, but focussing on the quality of your product rather than the quality of your advertising. Therefore you'll get a devoted following, which you clearly already have. So in time the word will spread and you'll grow bigger. DVM clearly already love your product.

In a way though I quite like you being a small company. What other company can offer a product just as good and still have the time to respond to a forum in a day!? biggrin

I can't do much because I'm a student with no money, but I'll definately do my best to spread the word. I've just made a film for a film competition at college using FXhome, so I've generated a bit of buzz there with people asking how I did those effects smile
I've also just created a blog for you on my film myspace.

www.myspace.com/kontrastproductions
it's the blog called FXhome if you're interested.

Anyway, keep up the good work, hopefully we'll see some more users resulting in more tutorials in the future smile

I personally like Fxhome being a small companie* (compared to Microsoft and such, anyways), for that way, you can actually get to know the users, for lack of a better word.

And, while we're talking about money and publicity...

I was just wondering... Since Fxhome products are downloads, then does it cost any money to you guys to make the program? I mean, if I buy VLab (again, I mean wink), then will $600 cnd go directly to the Fxhome team?

*hey I spelled it right this time wink

Well, several years of research, development, and programming before the program is even available; company computers and equipment that need bought, and then continuous updates and improvements after the release...

These all factor into the cost of creating the single file that you download to install the program.
