Congrats to Christian from me too. From what I've seen so far, the film really pushes the limits.
I can't wait myself!
Shame no one told me about the earlier screening. I would have gotten an earlier flight and be there too. Seems like I miss everyone now.

Let us know if you do make it along and which screening, hopefully we'll be able to meet up and say hello! You can spot the FXhome team by the FXhome t-shirts.

Unfortunately, I didn't know about the extra screening until a couple of weeks ago - originally it was supposed to be a Friday and a Saturday event - even as of today, the information is scarce. But the main event/Q & A is at night, also when Marco will be there. The actor who plays Sharp, Anderson Bradshaw will be present as well.
Oh! And I forgot to mention that b4uask is also in the film, reprising his infamous role of Paterson the exobiologist in not one but two major scenes!

I may come along but need to check my uni schedule. Just checked out the "film school" presentation link and was surprised to recognise the guy peering into the Canon in the photo... I had Neil Oseman come up to Durham uni 2 years ago to screen Soul Searcher
and talk to the filmmaking soc there. Cool to see you're giving a presentation with him! (his digital video lighting knowledge was very helpful back then)

Good stuff! We know what some of you look like (Hybrid's the glowing sliver of light, Arktic's the guy whose head is in the rafters), but for the rest we'll have to ask you to keep an eye out for the FXhome t-shirts!
Feel free to come up and say hi, it's always good to meet FXhomers.
Looking forward to it.

Hi guys, juist thought I would mention that the SCI-FI film school with the advanced screening of Recon is no longer £7 but now £10. Just thought I would mention it, as they told me when I booked of the pricing mistake. Sorry if you already knew.

FXhome products can be as realistic as the user wants, it just depends on the project and the user's skill.
However, the effects in RECON were created using a wide array of techniques, from miniatures to 3D modelling and animation. I believe VisionLab was used extensively for compositing duties, however, and possibly some muzzle flashes (though I know JC specialises in on-set pyro!).

It was great to see the team again and meet the Recon guys, I'll leave Tarn to do the writeup. I was going to take a ton of pics but I had some crud on my lens and it wouldn't focus properly. So this is really the only one I got. http://www.tuuk.co.uk/images/gallery/recon%202022/recon2022.JPG

Will there be similar coverage to that of Nightcast for Recon?

Don't think so seeing as noone had a camcorder but plenty of photos taken.

Well photos would be the next best thing. That nightCast coverage was unbelievably awesome. I just can't quit going on about it. anyways, pics would be cool as well.
