The recent limited edition NightCast DVD sold out in just a few days, so if you missed it you'll have to wait for the German version to be released on DVD later in the year. Unless, that is, you enter the FXhome.com NightCast DVD competition!

Win Nightcast on DVD!

We've got three copies of the extras-packed NightCast DVD, signed exclusively by director Marco von Moos and cinematographer Michelle Bauert during their recent visit to the FXhome offices. This might be your last chance to get hold of this limited edition DVD, created specially for the Z├╝rich premiere.

To enter the competition, all you have to do is answer the following question:

Which character does Marco von Moos play in RECON 2022: The Mezzo Incident?

Email your answer to COMPETITION NOW CLOSED.

Rules and regs: It wouldn't be a proper competition without some rules! So here we go: 1. These DVDs are region free but your player and TV need to be able to handle a PAL signal. 2. Don't forget to include your home mail address, as DVDs can't be sent by email. 3. Only one entry per person. 4. All entries must be received by 13 June 2007.

On a related note, NightCast received a glowing review from a Swiss movie site:

Click here for a dodgy, Google-translated English version!

Congrats to the NightCast team!

Anybody that didn't pick up the DVD when it was available, I highly recommend entering this competition. As well as the film itself, the DVD is packed with great extras that are hugely interesting from a no-budget filmmaker's point of view.

The summary, as best I could decipher it:

Slightly better translation by Ben wrote:

The film takes place in dark and grim future:

Militant clans of highly-skilled mercenaries write their own laws, while the police- so corrupt that they don't care to even lift a finger- do nothing to prevent it. As crime worsens to an immeasurable degree, chaos continues to rise as underground rebels attempt to restore order.

Into the crossfire of this ongoing struggle comes detective Harry Brighton (Fabian Ramseyer), who during a routine troop examination is forced into the lines of fire(?) when a hand grenade explodes near him, badly burning him all over his body. As Brighton is rushed to the hospital, his wounded corpse is intercepted by soldiers and brought to a secret research lab. At the lab, a serum is to be administered to make him a supersoldier with the strength of ten men and incredibly fast reflexes.

During the operation, however, things go horribly wrong. The half-created supersoldier flees the research plant, without knowledge of who he is or where he came from. He makes it to the inner city where, as his emotions begin to reel, he is able to piece together his memory; consequently discovering what happened to him.

As he regains his memory the 'creature' becomes infuriated. As rage builds within him, he makes plans to exact revenge upon the monsters who did this to him; vowing to get his old life back.
I'm still trying to figure out what the review itself says.... crazy
