Is it just me or does it feel like TONS of people have just joined fxhome in the past month or so. I'm not saying its a bad thing, its just weird cause ever since I've been here this many people haven't joined this fast. I guess cause fxhome is on youtube mostly. Anybody else feel the same way?

I've felt this way since mid-2006. It seems like from 2004 to 2005 we had a solid group of forum-goers, most of which were spillover from 2002 and 2003 like Rawree, billy3d, MechaForce, Hajiku_Flip, and a bunch of others.

From 2006 until now it just seems like new users are a dime a dozen. There's a lot of them, alright!

I purchased VisionLab Studio because I saw someones banner on another forum.

VisionLab Studio is now a major part of my company's Avid production workflow.

I'm here to stay!

There have been a lot of new faces, which is great. Presumably our recent promotions have done their job! The best thing is that it doesn't seem to have altered the 'feel' of the website much, which is always a risk when a community grows.

2002 has nothing on 2001 smile

There have been several 'core bunches' it seems to me. People tend to come and go as other things in their life take more or less priority and once in a while an old face pops back on to see how things are going and say hello. So far the community has stayed good as it has got bigger and as fxhome as a company have got bigger.

I was good friends with Malone and Schwar before this even started and it is great to see how well they are doing. Not only have they mastered the difficulty of starting up a company but I don't think any of us could have imagined that the community would develop into what we have today. Its an excellent place to learn from each other and through it I've met several people that I chat to on a daily basis and that I would consider close friends.

Lets hope it continues with as much success in the future.

Yeah I definitely feel there well defined "ages" of FXHomers.

Age of the Ancients (Six Years Ago): Schwar, Malone, Kid, Xcession

Age of the Influentials(Five Years Ago): Tarn, Sollthar, Andreas, Sidewinder, Mechaforce, Axeman, Hajiku_Flip, nivlak, er-no, Mellifluous, Redhawksrymmer, Rawree

Age of the New Wonders (Four Years Ago): Hybrid-Halo, CX3, ajjax44, Arktic

Age of the New Children (Three Years Ago): me, Serpent, Pooky, Evman, The Atom Bros, TimmyD, Klut

Age of the ....New People (Two Years Ago to Present Day): fxmaniac, SketchWork, Garrison, B3N, and many more!

Age of the War Against the Machines (Eight Years in the Future): Everyone will be dead, because FXHome becomes self aware and a Terminator was sent back in time to kill Sidewinder and Mechaforce, who were our only chance of surviving.

New Kids on the Block rocked the sh!t back in 2004 with controversy and substandard movies. Bah! Those were the days when a n00b could go 4 good days with a new thread of theirs not even being answered.

If you think you newbies (biggrin) have the monopoly on crappy first movies then clearly you never saw the original "Fool Skool" series or the godawful production I was involved in back in the day.

barely any force... nobody bothers to watch or comment on my movies (although there haven't been many movies)

oh well... I'm not in it for the glory. Just like it around here. wink

I'm in the list smile hehe.

Anyway since I joined last year abouts there was already the great guys on. Ashman, Klut, Sharp, Serpent, Rawree, Bryce007, Pooky and everyone on the team page.
They have all helped me and others through, and there are now twice...NO! triple the amount of FXhomers joining now.

So congrats FXhome and i hope the community grows big enough to be declared a nation smile hehe.

I was such a noob in the days (about 6 months ago... wink) that I had to start posting right away, or I would still be wondering how on Earth do I save my project as an AVI file. Obviously, at the time, I didn't know what AVI was...

It's great to see so many new faces on the website! There's always a discussion going on, compared to 4 or 5 years ago, when some times it could just be pretty quiet for days. I still remember my first topic and how it felt to find AlamDV.com close to 5 years ago.

Back in the day, when I hadn't seen AotS, RvD was the thing that made me Google search for a good program that wasn't too expensive but gave awesome results. And I'm still here today.

Vote 1 Team FXhome!
