Hi All,
I spotted something the other day which i think will be great for all the Fxhome software lineup. Over at www.logickeyboard.com they do a couple of products called the ' Shuttle Xpress ' and the ' Shuttle Pro V2 ' .
Dont know if your software already supports these kind of items already but if they dont then i think it'll be a great addition to your arsenal. Having that little dial you can wiggle back & forth one frame at a time nice & slow or fast if ya like would be so much better than keep clicking the keyboard buttons all the time. Would be great for quick previewing in both directions while keyframing an effect etc and a really cheap bit of hardware judging by the price of them.
What do you think ow Gods ??

all of the controls on the Shuttle hardware are assignable, so the support doesn't acually have to be built into the software. Any control in the software that has a keyboard command can be assigned to one of the buttons or controls on the Shuttle Xpress (or Pro). I've got one, actually, though I've not tried it in VisionLab. I'll give it a go and let you know how it works.

I tried it out today, with limited success. I'm happy to report that all of the buttons worked fine, and i could set in/out points, use the jkl play commands, etc without a hitch. BUT, I can't get the jog/shuttle controls to work at all. I tried setting them up a couple of different ways, but every time I got no response whatsoever.

Just thought I'd note that Contour Designs makes the Shuttle, not that company. As Axeman says, it's really completely assignable. I use my Shuttle Pro v2, terrific little device, in Vegas and to scroll between Firefox tabs and flip down pages by changing the settings.

No doubt with the right configuration you could get it to work with an FXHome app. Axe, are you using an XPress? Because I can do jog through Effectlab, but not the other spinning thing. When I use it, it scrubs through the timeline, though. Not as a variable speed dial, as it is in NLEs, though. You might want to suggest it to the Shuttle company, though, as they are the ones who can make it workable with certain apps, not the software creators themselves. (correct, Tarn?)

I've got a first generation ShuttlePro. What settings did you use for the jog to get it to work? I tried setting it up several different ways, without success.

I used, strangely enough, Adobe Acrobat settings to get it to work. But I can only scrub-through, not widen the timeline.

Hello again,
Sounds interesting Atom, the actual thing id really like to do with CL and EL is to be able to use the wheel on a shuttle to go frame by frame backwards & forwards one at a time like pushing the left arrow on the keyboard for back one frame or the right arrow to go forward one frame. Not really bothered if it does'nt play forwards & backwards like using the J,K & L buttons on the keyboard. I really get sore finger tips keep tap tap tapin on those damn arrow keys all the time *L*.
Atom, where you say ' But I can only scrub-through ', do you mean what i was just saying above ( ref the <-- & --> keys ) ??

Regards
Paul
