I went through the tutorials but I think I am missing something.

How do I mask muzzle flashes? I have a shot where sombody's arm passes in front of a muzzleflash and partially blocks it.

I tried the masks but I can't seem to actually mask it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Be sure to click the 'animate' button after drawing the mask.
