ok...so i have one movie clip that i just imported. How can i cut this single movie clip into two seperate parts? I just got a video of these two actors fighting and then when they were done, the film was still left on, and i kept filming it again except without the actors. This is all one movie clip. How do i split it?

Above the timeline on the left side of your screen there are a bunch of tools. One of them is a slice tool, it looks like an exacto knife. RTFM

Alternately, you could set in and out points in the media browser, and only import the section of the clip you want onto the timeline. Its actually kinda handy how the FXhome crew have provided a manual with the program, explaining how it works, as well as a Quickstart tutorial, explaining how to use it, and video tutorials showing you how it works.

Typically the way you'll want to do this is to edit it however you want in your editing app, then export the scenes that need effects or composite work to be used in VisionLab.
