considering no-one has seen, or will be seeing lotr 2 for AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGES then we can't really tell, i mean it could be amazing, which i am sure it will be, and i do think that spiderman looks better than yoda, but i haven't seen spiderman movie yet, so i am gonan vote episode 2, purely cos it is the only one out of the 3 i have seen....

They're all great films with awsome special effects, but I have to go with Episode 2 for the same reason TMM did, it is the only one I've seen.

Spiderman has great effects, but compared to the quantity of AOTC, it's nothing. Unless Twin Towers is above my expectations, AOTC will reign surpreme! -

ok, if you honestly think the spiderman effects are amazing, you're blind.
any time you see him running or jumping, it looks like the animation from Shrek. It's too smooth and blurry to be realistic, plus the movements are odd.
i hit other cuz if matrix comes out this year (I don't remember) i'm sure it will be amazing.

Stars Wars had some great effects (The yoda fight especially), but it also had some crappy ones as well. Spiderman wasn't too bad, but I think the CG animation of him swing between the buildings could've been better.

I have to go with AOTC. Spider-Man was extra cool of ourse, but didn't approach the eye-candy levels of Episode II.
Upcoming, I expect amazing things from the Two Towers.
Next year, I expect that the two Matrix movies and The Hulk will have our eyes a-poppin.

Andreas, you think spiderman has good SFX? Have people realized how much technical expertise was needed for those 3d environments and flawless bluescreening?

I thought Spiderman's effects were awesome. Sure, some things didnt look entirely real, but they were still super-cool none the less.

Sure not everything in Spider-Man looked real, but they were doing a lot of things no-one can do for real.

Well of course!
A movie wouldn't be a movie if people could do the stuff in real life!

Well, you COULD do what spiderman does in real life. Only, you wouldn't have too many shots at it

Sure, the effects were good...

I'm seeing SpiderMan tomorrow too

Yup I agree Codec 3, everyone should go back and watch Starship Troopers, for a five year old film it still holds it's own against the latest stuff.
But I think the best vfx was in Dog Soldiers, I have never seen such realistic disembowling

yeah, dog soldiers was great...
wasn't too keen on starship troopers, but the again i haven't seen it in ages, so i may feel differently if i saw it again...
in spiderman, the animation is let down by the texturing, i mean the animation is amazing, but the texturing just makes it look unreal, similar to yoda in aotc, he had amazing animation, but the textures showed that he isn't actually there...

I saw spiderman last week at a preveiw, I can confirm it is an amazing film. The effects are stunning, only a couple let it down (you'll know which I mean when you see them). But the best thing about the film is that it has characters, comedy, and a real story. It doesn't fall into the usual blockbuster traps.
But I knew with Sam Raimi at the helm it couldn't fail...

im gonna have to go with star wars on this one
Compared to spiderman it jsut looks more realistic,
in SW theres prolly about 500 sfx things that you dont even notice, spidermans are obvious
SW's are more realistic, better looking, and yeah, better

Definately "double dragon". that and "mortal kombat annhiliation". they may be a little older, but man, the sfx were AMAZING!
