What would be the best way to add text to the screen, should i have it as a particle or what. i am doing the thing where there is fire in the background shining through. i have tried .png files but when i increase the scale it goes pretty fuzzy. i have effects lab pro if that is a question. thanks in advance.

Its best to create the text in an image editor, such as Photoshop, with an embedded alpha channel. Then use that alpha as the source of an object mask for the fire.
