Could anyone make a blade for a lightsaber handle like this...
Where the blades are red would be more like a lightsaber. (With a white core and an outer glow.)

it doesn't matter if it is possible, lightsabres are impossible anyway...
it would just look cool in a movie...
i have a question, to do with lightsabres and stuff (so not off topic), that will stump people, well it stumped #chat, do lightsabres cast a shadow???

Seems like they should, they are a light source right?

Of course they case a shadow. Think of shining a bright light source on the floor. You put an object in the way, a lightsaber in this case, and the light will be blocked, creating a shadow.

no i think u miss understand me...
i don't mean if u put them behind an object, would that object have a shadow, i mean does the lightsabre HAVE a shadow, say it is a sunny day in the desert of tatooine, and the sun is behind u, u pull out ya sabre *does sabre sound effect* will the blade have a shadow on the ground???
and as the blade is made of light, surely light can't have a shadow...

no, becuse lightsabres is actually light. If they weren't they wouldn't have a glow since the glow actually is an artifact coused by too much light filmed with the camera. anyway, i'm making it

And doesn't this weapon look like something a Star-Wars version of Batman would use?

No because it is casting light. Let's say you have a lightbulb floating in midair close to the ground lit up. I don't think it would have a shadow because it is casting light.

i think this plug-in looks cool, but it would be hard to use, lightsabre blades are easier cos they r a straight line that can easily be implemented for perspective use...
on this, it would be quite hard for it to look effective, but still a good idea...
and this lightsabre thing is very tricky, on one hand u have the fact that the blade would be blocking the lightsource, thus casting a shadow...
on the other hand u have the fact it it a lightsource itself, meaning it won't cast a shadow, quite tricky...

On the subject of lightsabre shadows, my thought is that it would depend on the strength of the lights source. If you hold a light-bult out on a sunny day, it will cast a shadow, just a much dimmer one.
I imagine that a faint shadow would appear against, say, the side of a hut on tatooine. But you'd see no shadow in a cave.

I am remembering a STAR WARS comic where Vader was attacked by a assassin with, and I am not making this up, X men Wolverine Lightsaber Claws.
It was not cool, it was ridiculous. Take care not to lose the heart of the movie with all these news ideas.

Basically this is George's rule of the movie. Star Wars in his eyes has 'rules'. 'cus of the 70's with cheap effects, the lightsaber actually had a shadow, so in the movie's 'reality', all lightsabers cast a shadow, even in the new movies. It's george's rule... I think we should follow it.....
