You’ll recognise the forum as being more-or-less the same as before, at least in terms of how it works. It’s got a new, funky look but you should feel right at home when it comes to navigation.

Post layout

The biggest change is with individual posts. As you can see, all the profile info has been shifted up to the top, so it can be found in one place, rather than scattered around the edges. This means that you have much more room for your actual post content – particularly useful for anybody that is interested in posting up images or production blogs.

Sig specs

Due to the changed width, we’ve also altered the signature specifications. Sigs can now be a maximum of 80 pixels high and a maximum of 854 pixels wide. If you’ve got images in your sig, make sure you update them for the new format!

The New Force

In a controversial move, Force has been renamed ‘FXperience’! It still works in exactly the same way, with FXperience awarded based on positive/negative ratings. The higher your FXperience number, the more valued your forum contributions have been over the years!

Awesome stuff, it's great to finally get rid of the old "force" name smile

Agreed, though I will miss the old lightsabers. It's handy to have a graphical representation, rather than having to find the little number at a glance. Ah well, great update, anyway!

Something that niggles away at me sometimes when im reading a thread on the Forum is trying to actually work out where someone is located , UK, USA etc. on several occasions I have got really interested to maybe want to go and see something they are talking about only to then actually find out its in another country.
Some sites in forums have national flags , any chance of something like that at the next revision or just a Country name would help. (Its just come to mind after reading a post for someone selling a camera and extras staing a figure but no currency sign, had to end up looking at a link he listed to work out its in the USA , so no luck there )

Other than that, nice overhaul !!

Yeah, that would look cool. Maybe have a dropdown menu of countries, and have their flag shown like the Mac or Windows logo.

You just need to click on a person's profile to see their country of residence (if they've entered that information). I'm not sure having it prominently displayed on the forum is a good idea, as it immediately starts breaking people down into groups and factions, even if it's only in a subliminal manner.

Just like the last time the forums had an overhaul, things look really really weird and cluttered to me now. Oh well! smile

I agree...I used to love the RSS feeds on the forum updates, but I don't see that anywhere. Am I just missing it?

It's right next to the 'New Topic' button in each of the forums.

Hope that helps!

Cheers.
