UPDATES:

[9-17-07] "A FEW NEW THINGS"

How's all my independent Directors doing today. 1st off I would like to say I hope everybodies projects are going well & with few road blocks. There are a few things thats happened & that is happening with my project right now.

1st: "WE ARE OFFICIALLY 50% DONE WITH THE FILM!"...But that was the easy part. Now its CRUNCH TIME!!! All the killing, gun shots, fast paced action, & horrific scenes are the hard parts. I will probably be needing some help from guys on gun shots & blood squirts soon. So keep your ears open for me LOL!

2nd: "ALL ROLES HAVE BEEN CASTED!"...A longtime friend of mine who I went to kindergarden through high school with. Has crossed paths with me & I knew when I seen her...SHE was perfect for the role of "Dr. Angela Harris" Her name is Casey Travis, & I think your going to love performance.

3rd: "THE SOUNDTRACK/SCORE"...I have been working on the music for the movie. Because as you all know I am a producer as well. (I know so talented) I have gotten done with 50% of the music considering I got 50% of the movie shot & edited. If anybody knows of any good VST instruments..hit me up.

4th & FINAL: "THE INTERVIEW"...I will be taping an on set interview with myself & cast members from the movie. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS YOU WOULD LIKE TO ASK ABOUT THE MOVIE...SEND ME A PM WITH YOUR FULL NAME & YOUR QUESTION WILL GET ANSWERED & NOTED IN THE VIDEO INTERVIEW.

[9-4-07] "SOLITUDE LONGER THAN EXPECTED...FEATURE LENGTH MAYBE??"

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been online in a while. I've been busy with this Solitude movie. Originally, it was suppose to be a short film, ranging from 15 to 30 minutes long. But as filming and pre-editing continues, its starting to look like a feature length film. All of my pre-edited scenes together total out at about 48 minutes. And the crazy part is we still haven't shot most of the "KILLER CLIMAX & FALLING ACTION" scenes. I'm also thinking this won't be done in November either. Since this is my 1st film, I was unaware of everything that goes it to it. But I'm learning & learning fast, so hopefully my film catches up with my learning.

Thanks For The Support & I will keep you posted.

Thanks I need it. I've already shot & edited about 20% of the film including opening title sequence. I'm trying to find out about making a advertisement flyers, posters, websites, etc. Finding a cheap place or person who can help make them.

Well its cool, Its not scheduled to be done & releasing until Mid-October.

Looks promising. Just remember that violence and language doesn't always mean "more movie-like", although how gratuitous you get is entirely up to you.

Otherwise, good luck! We're filming the same times, so who knows how each will turn out. smile

Thanks, I'm trying my best to make the movie have at least a "make-sense-of-it-all" storyline. Horror movies get such bad wraps for not having storylines, just murder death kill. And I wanted to create a villian that people would actually like, & feel for like, "Hell Yeah, Kill'em For What They've Done To You!!!" But it is my 1st film & Im ALMOST POSITIVE outside of my starter camcorder, there will be things in the film I wish I should of,would of,could have done but didn't.

P.S. What is the name of the movie your making?

Cool poster!

I think the spacing/sizing of your poster elements could use some work, but otherwise cool stuff. You need any help or anything, I'll be glad to Photoshop you some stuff. Your "solitude" part reminds me of my poster, haha.

LOL, and I didn't even pay attention to that until you said something. yesturday I was on "dafont.com" (best site for fonts to me) looking for fonts and that one stuck out the most to me. It captured that blood splattered smirred look I wanted.

But yeah, When I get some of the production & promotional photos up...That'll be great.

The direct image link is what clicking the poster leads to, actually.

But you wanted the bottom text brighter, so I've included a 30x24 inch JPEG copy with the adjustments you've asked for. I can upload a higher-quality .PNG to my server if this doesn't work.

Here's what the revised "November 2007" looks like. All files, including the full-res .PNG, will be at adamsbrosfilms.com/newmages/solitude

Here's a link to a HUGE-scale JPEG copy of it:

And the PNG:

The 18-wheeler part isnt very original but the dog is...

LOL, that would be funny if that was in a movie. I have made them up. I just want to see what kind of sick & twisted ways people can think of somebody getting killed by some Satan mind controled physcopath. And nobody will know if theres is used or not until the movie comes out. If I think my scenes are better...nothing will change. I just want people to be involved. thats all.

Hmm not too fond of those posters. The blood-splattered guns image is cool but the text on top looks like it was added in Word... you also squished the images horizontally to fit the poster size, you might want to fix that.

Let's see a teaser then!

Wow that is exactly what a teaser should be like... It has made my "wanna see it" level go up wink.

(Nice glowing eye effect)

Also not a bad commentary-type introduction.

Awesome teaser, especially the shout outs, haha.

If you still need the other two posters redone in any way, I'm open to that, I've just been busy lately with MSB. I can do them now, though, if you've got any ideas; though the guns and knives things you already have look great.

I have just a few criticisms on the trailer, I hope you don't take them too harshly:

-The voice over is good, but it could use work. Add a bit more bass to it, maybe slow it down by about 5 or 10 percent. Also try to annunciate it a bit more, making sure each and every line is clear and well-spoken. I'm not saying you don't already have this, but making it more prevalent would improve the teaser overall.

-The text itself is a tad hard-to-read. I suggest adding a dispersed ball of glow with EffectsLab or something to 'brighten up' the background plate just a tad. The darkness could be from the YouTube compression though, I dunno. Also, the spinning effect (or the skew/stretch thing) happening to the text should be used a bit more sparingly, if not at all.

-The whole thing should probably be in widescreen. Especially the eyes bit. It looks REALLY GOOD, but putting it in widescreen would give you not only the chance to frame the shot a bit better in post, but to add cinematic flair to what you've done.

All-in-all, the teaser works pretty well as just that- a teaser.

Yes that would be fine. I can use you on the 2 REAL Posters I'll be doing hopefully in 2 weeks with characters from the movie. So clear your schedule..LOL

But No, No, No, That is the type of criticim I was looking for. Flaws that I missed that I can correct the next time I do something like that. The ony on I don't know how to do is WIDESCREEN...I Love Widescreen but when I was trying to add it to the footage, it added it to the sides instead of the top. You know what I mean?

So it was ok for my 1st finished/edited effort?

And I'm glad you like it SilverDragon7.

More Feedback is wanted & welcome.

Nice teaser, only the thing that has bothered me a little is that the music is a little too loud, I'm having trouble hearing the voice-over. Other than that, nice job!

Just watched the teaser. I think you are doing an incredibly good job at a first film! I really want to see the final project. My criticisms would be the same as Ben's, make the text easier to read and give us a little more time to read it before it flips. Also I found it hard to hear your voice in some parts, you could turn down the music. Just find a way to fix those and It could be a really cool teaser.

Oh, and the beating heart was really cool!

I'm pleased you guys are enjoying it.

I thought my voice was to loud actually. When I recorded it in Pro-Tools, my wave levels seemed just right. But when I brought it over to Vegas 8, they seemed low. So I ended up turning all the way up to 12. then turned the db up to 7 & I had the background music at -7. But I guess My Studio Monitors pack more punch than average speakers. I probably should have turned the Pro-Tools session up & that would of fixed it.

As far as the Special Texts Effects, they're much more visiable outside of Youtube. Youtube actually made my video darker than I edited to be to. I wonder why that is? I was also scared that if I made the text stay to long the teaser would turn into trailer length. And I wanted to keep it under 1:50. I'll keep all that in mind next time.

P.S.

I WANT MY MOVIE TO BE IN WIDE SCREEN 16:9. MY CAMCORDER IS SET AT 16;9, BUT IT SHOWS AS 4:3. IF SOMEBODY CAN SHOW ME HOW TO DO THIS IN VEGAS OR VISION OR EVEN ANOTHER PROGRAM, LET ME KNOW

Thanks

I know there is a way to do it in Vegas... But you'll have to ask one of the Adams brothers on how to do that.

Also... If there is any other way I can help, I'd be happy too.

It worked. I got the widescreen thing working right finally. Thanks Atom & Silverdragon. Its to late to change up the teaser, but the trailer & the movie will be in widescreen.

Well weather it's a feature length film or a short film, it's still your first film... That's what matters.

Sounds like everything has been going good anyway, so good luck still.

Yeah it has. Alot of hard work, but fun at the same time. The cast is great. The biggest challenge is for me to Direct it & Star in it at the SAME time. But I figure if I push myself to the limit tyhe 1st time, every other time won't be as hard.

So again, thanks for the support!
