IT'S TIME. HAUNTFEST 2007 TIME.
That's right gentlemen (and ladies, if you're out there), it's time for the third annual HAUNTFEST Horror Film Challenge. But, we're not quite ready yet. So, this is the warning shot! We're giving you all some advance time to start your movies, in the hopes that we'll get some even better ones than last year. So, start thinking, and start writing those screenplays... look for official rules and website in September. Briefly, here's what you need for your scripts:Required line of dialogue:
"You thought I didn't exist."Time limit:
Your job is to scare us, creep us out, make us pee our pants in fright (hopefully not), and make us afraid to go to sleep at night... Good luck!
The Hauntfest Horror Film Challenge Founders
TimmyD and MikerNOTE TO THOSE WISHING TO OFFER PRIZES:
We'd love prize donations for our winner, this year! If you've got something to offer, send Miker or I a private message right away, so we can get things set. We will NOT be accepting more prizes once the contest begins, so please, PM now!

Oh snap. I am pumped for this. I've really gotten back into filmmaking since the last one. I love it when you guys put this together and really appreciate the contribution you are making for the community. +1 and again, can't wait. Totally psyched.
EDIT: I feel like a mod. I totally posted before miker, and then he deleted his, then I mine. Yeah...

Awesome! Unfortunately I'm too busy working on another project to enter this year but I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. Good luck to those entering!

Cool stuff! Unfortunantly I won't be able to attend this year, since I'm filming something in a different genre this autumn. But I sure will check out the entries, I'm sure they will be awesome!

This thread is hardly noticeable, I just now got to it.
I'm in for sure. And I might be trying to offer a prize that some people might like. I dunno yet.

I was excited for this... however, the required line of dialogue doesn't really work for me. It's way too specific.
I've had about three or four ideas kicking around, and the line of dialogue cannot fit into any of them without sounding, well, out of place.
So, I want to do this, but does anyone else think that the required line is too pigeonholed?

I agree. I mean, I think it can be used creatively enough to get some different stuff, but it really narrows your options, especially as far as what kind of horror you are going to make. In my opinion, required dialogue line's purposes are to make sure the film was made for said contest. It's always cool to see how it is incorporated, but I personally think this one might be too limiting. If it sticks though, I think I will find a way to stretch it and work it into something I want to make. But that might make it suffer from being too out of place.

Eh, well, consider it temporary until the contest officially starts. We're going for a line that involves something like "You thought I didn't exist" or something, so try to include a line that can be interchanged to the required line.
It's also very possible that we decide to do away with the line altogether-- this is just a warning shot to let you guys get ready early, so don't worry too much just yet.

It could be the same line translated to norwegian, right?
I might be able to make something this year.

Hauntfest is an annual film festival of sorts, where Fxhomers are to create a horror film, and submit it to the Fxhome Cinema (I think).
Sometime in September there'll be more information on it, in the News section.
