I have a big problem with this effect, now I'm doing a movie where its raining so I decided to use this effect to make it more realistic...but, when ever I put it into my movie there's a big pitch black outline surronding it, it looks horrible, seriously it might look good if you had a PITCH BLACK filter on the camera, but I don't think thats what they were aiming for so...help anyone?

use a program like the GIMP or photoshop, make a bunch of circles, blur them and add an alpha channel, then just put it over your footage. That's just what I would do but there are other ways.

There's a preset called "Water on Camera" (or something like that). It's basically an optic and it looks very realistic. I'd definately recommend it.It's here.
(You could add masks to make it look like the droplets are going on your camera one by one...)

I made the camera rain drops preset. I seem to have lost the alpha channel when I made the textures. You can fix it though by changing an effects attribute (click on the purple bar on the left of the timeleft, then click on the atrributes panel on the right). Change the composite mode to Add or Screen.
I will fix the textures and re upload the preset sometime next week.
