Hey everyone.

Firstly, I'm not sure if this is in the right section to post this so if it isn't, sorry. I couldn't help noticing the awesome invisible man effect in the promo video on the front page.

Is this effect do-able in Effects Lab Lite, if so, how?

Thanks in advance.

Well firstly, I beleive this should be in the 'EffectsLab' Forum since you only have EffectsLab. And I do not think that it is capable to do that in EffectsLab Lite, but only VisonLab Studio and CompositeLab. Hope that answers your question, but i may be wrong.

I have other software that I use to chroma-key. Does anyone know how I might be able to achieve the effect, essentially I want to know how to have the distorting, looking-through-water effect to show the character is invisible.

Well firstly you would have to tell everyone what Software you use to Chroma-Key and they may help you further.

I use my editing program Vegas 5.0. Will I have to make some sort of template/overlay to make the shimmering effect?

It's created using a displacement map, which is a simple filter in CompositeLab Pro and VisionLab Studio. I've no idea if it's available in Vegas.

Thanks. I've found a displacement map setting in Vegas, I had a few problems getting it to work but I've got it now. Thanks for your help everyone!

If you want to add another pretty cool effect for inivsibility you could try applying a bump map filter in Vegas on the clip with the displacement effect. smile
