Hey guys. I know there has been recent debate about new lightsaber handles, and although it may never happen, I designed a few. I only posted 2 for now, 1 is a darkside version, which I like alot! twisted Anyhow, they can be found here --> http://www.angelfire.com/film/lightsaberhandl Post your comments!

I think 2 looks more "dark side", but they're your designs. biggrin

Anyway, they're both cool. I really, really like no. 1, it's got kind of an antique look to it.

Number 2 IS the darkside, I just meant that 1 of them was a darkside version. Sorry for the confusion biggrin

that's dookey, those pice are like 5pxl x 20pxl...I do like the thought that DarkSide is organic and crusty. Me? I never let my swords get dull, I am always polishing and sharpening them, so nothing ever looks like no attention has been paid to it: My weapons are my life...I like it if you keep DarkSide organic and roundy, as if your evil soul created it, opposed to the sleek streamlie designs which truly use the Force.

Models are technically worthless ecxcept for CU shots and preproduction concepts, props are much better.
Make the pics bigger and add some movement to them, otherwise they are just static models...

uh, yeah I finally realize that, but if you wanna make a *demonstration* of your saber constructin ability then you have to deliver something bigger than 20pixels wide on my screen,,,
anyways: you did ask.

Question for ya....

Did you say that you designed these yourself? Or did you make them based on a tutorial you found? Because either I am insane, or your number 1 lightsaber is identical to one found here. This is a pic from the Big Yellow Box.

They look pretty awesome! Seems like a *fun* idea, not much more than that though biggrin

Codec3: Why would you need an enlarged picture. The only time you are gonna see them is in the forum, where they will probaly be even smaller than that.

Oh no. I'm not taking credit for them. I found a whole bunch scattered along the internet, and turned them into forum lightsabers, although if they were to be used, they might have to be a tad bit smaller.

what!?

That is completely offtopic...

If schwar and malone didn't like my avatar size, and they thought it was taking too much bandwith, they would have deleted it, or changed the size requirements for an avatar!

It's not like I cheated when I made my avatar or somethin. It follows the size restrictions perfectly!

If you think it's taking too much bandwith, that's your problem, not mine evil

Yeah, those sabres are cool. A couple of things tho; All the sabres are going to have to be the same size. The current one is 36x11 which fits pretty well, Id be happy to adjust it a couple of pixels one way or the other, but it needs to be about that size so the actual light bit will fit.

Also, the ends (where the light comes out) will have to be straight, so the light can join properly.

Also keep in mind that they will have to be transparent gifs that work on both the background colors. I had a bit of trouble antialiasing mine against both backgrounds, and in the end went for a hard edge.

Those are looking good so far tho

So is there even a little bit of hope for me to resize those and fix them up, maybe add a couple more. Or is this idea still a longshot?
