Alright guys. We've all had about a week or so to get used to the new rating system. Malone's adding updates almost everyday. I was wondering what you guys think, wether your opinion has changed over the last few days, and if there are any suggestions or things you'd like to see implemented. I personally love the new system, I'm seeing much more helpful posts, and alot less spam. Although I think the negative ratings can get out of hand. I think we need to be more sparing with those. Afterall, we're still here to chat and have fun, not worry about wether were going th get a "useless" for not contributing 100% to the topic. But, how do you feel?

I like it. Still would like to see automatic handing out of rating tokens, though. Overall, it seems pretty cool, the system could use a little tweaking, but it's working decently. I think we need some more rating though! I've used 30 tokens already, lol!

Yeah I ran out today, I've spent 21 so far. Maybe Malone will gimme some more tommorow biggrin I was thinking maybe you get 10 tokens for every two +1 ratings. I also REALLY want to see the ratings public, so I know who voted for me.

If you have a pretty high force rating, or if your just nice, ask malone or schwar and they'd probably be happy to give you some. Currently, that's the only way to recieve more tokens.

You have to post good posts. If you post good, people will spend their tokens and "Rate" your post, giving you force points. Also, if you are a gold member, you recieve 200 pts, and if your a mac/pc usergrouper, you get an extra 20

Yep, I sorta agree with Hajiku_Flip. I think you should get 5 tokens for every +1 post you have. That'll keep things rolling, for now...

Yes I am with you guys. There needs to be an automatic system for giving out the tokens. I got one only and spent it. If that is the case for most people the rating system will just be forgotton about very quickly.

i don't hate the new system, but i don't like it too much either.

i don't pay attention to it. only prob i have now is that my sabre is too small sad

but that's it. i wasted my 1 token, and haven't thought twice about it afterwards.

heh, it's kinda fun for n00bs and such... but i still look at post #s as a primary indicator of how long a person has a been here, and useful they've been. I mean, if averagejoe is deleteing all "useless posts", then the post #s for each person are indicating how many "useful" posts a person has. Eh?

Also, is there anyway i could see how many posts i would have at this point if none were deleted?

Your post number and ratings stay the same now. So if I got 3 useless's (? crazy ) and AJ deleted them, I'd still have the -3 rating and those 3 on my post count.

LMAO, that is too freakin funny man. From now on that will be my motto, I delete useless posts to make individual quality better crazy speaking of which maybe I should delete this....

The new system is going in the right direction. Malone is the WEB GOD and this will all be sorted and forgotten biggrin

Unless maybe your post count does goes down, and your force stays the same. I'm sure about the force part, it'll stay no matter what. I just thought malone mentioned you got to keep your post count also. (BTW: I love this night crowd biggrin )

Yessir. Me here in Minnesota, former home of the North Stars hockey team...

Er..

I think, the ratings system would be used much more if there were either a "rate all" button to let you select ratings for many posts without having to reload the page every freakin time, or if the page simply wouldn't reload.

It kinda starts to drag if you're a 56k'r.

What do YOU think?

P.S. haha. Look at those silly Brits.

At first i hated the new system (i had sls: saber-loss syndrome) but now i kinda like the new system - but alot of people only got 1 token and have used it - we should of got about 10 to start off with, cause now, the only people with tokens are schwar+malone, other mods and goldmembers(some of which don't even use the forum) anyway, i like the new system. I'm sure malone will have the auto-token disspenser system sorted soon.......i hope!

i still haven't completely embraced the new system (mainly cuz no one is giving me antying sad ).

i would also suggest an option to turn it off per user, like someone else said. but waht would be the point really? just ignore it.

but then the counter is: i stil see the big point score at the top with the numbers, and it pisses me off when other ppl have so many and I don't.

i think you see the small dilemma
