Amapi 4.15 is free, for both Mac and Windows:

also Strata3D base is free, and for both Mac and Windows:

Check out Gmax, which is a free version of 3d Studio Max. www.discreet.com/products/gmax.

u will have to copy and paste the geocities one into ur browser...

the may website has gone down (cos the company filed for bankruptcy or summit) but there are some mirror sites with the program and if u need to, i can send u the installer thing...

I have Strata3Dpro (base's big brother) - I think it's really good and easy to use (if you're from a graphics background).

Strata3Dbase is free by the way!!!

Strata3Dplus is the guy in the middle - not as many features as pro but more than base.

Then there's Strata3Dpro which has everything.

I don't feel Strata's a rival to Cinema4D or Lightwave but the pro version isn't as expensive either!

I've done some things in Strata3Dpro here http://www.cjproductions.co.uk/html/3d-animations.html

My advice would be - Try Strata3Dbase for yourself (as it's free) and if you like it but want more, see how your budget is for base.

Can you BELIEVE!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I go to download Strata and BOOM! no strata 3d free on their site. I call and they don't have it for download anymore!??! I am totaly down because when I heard about blender was the DAY it went bankrupt. I was now like NO WAY!!!

The sales guy was too cool though. He took my address and said that they would email it too me. It seems like they were using too much bandwith. HHHHMMM..... I seem to remember people asking for anyone to be able to download the plugins....... other people do it too.

Anyway, thought people should know!
