This is probably a stupid question. When doing the green screen then keying to make someone invisible. I can input the subject within a video image. For the background it will be a recorded video plate with a camcorder. It doesn't have to just be a still image for the background?

Correct. The background can be nearly any still image or video footage you want. To facilitate easy compositing, it is often useful to keep the camera on a tripod while filming the background plate, as tracking a moving camera is not easy in CompositeLab.
