TRON is an acquired taste - a firm cult favourite, but never a massive commercial success due to its odd blend of groundbreaking, experimental filmmaking and Disney family adventure. Rumours of a sequel have circulated for years, especially after the TRON 2.0 computer game was released. The Dude himself, Jeff Bridges, has now commented on the sequel and it sounds like he's interested - truly a reason to celebrate!

Dear god. The original Tron is entertaining because of its campy sense of humor and now dated sequences. It also represents a landmark in visual effects. But really, where could they go with a sequel? I doesn't make any sense to try to follow up a movie that's only appeal comes from its campness.

Ooh, it would be really cool if they made Tron 2.0 (and as Tarn said, since they've already made a game it's quite a chance). I will definently try to stay updated concerning this! biggrin

The IMDB lists that there is a TRON in developement for release in 2010. It has no details on what it is or who would be in it. Jeff and Bruce are getting a bit grey for running around inside a computer though ... unless they replace the light cycles with wheelchairs. smile

I'd like to see a Tron 2, as im a Fan of the orginal..

It would have to be groundbreaking though, in the same way the first one was... and have a good story, that we would care about.

Wouldn't want this to be like The Lawnmower Man:2 etc...
