I've seen a few threads on this lately and I figured I might as well make a list about which softwares work.

Names in green are compatible.
Names in red aren't compatible.
Names in default colour need confirmation.

Adobe Premiere Elements (Microsoft Windows)
Adobe Premiere Pro (Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X)

Final Cut Express (Mac OS X)
Final Cut Pro (Mac OS X)
iMovie/iMovie HD (Mac OS X)

Autodesk Discreet Smoke and Discreet Fire (Linux, IRIX)

Avid DS Nitris (Microsoft Windows)
Avid Symphony
Avid Liquid (Microsoft Windows)
Avid Media Composer (Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X)
AVID Xpress Pro
AVID Xpress HD
AVID Xpress DV

CyberLink PowerDirector (Microsoft Windows)

Pinnacle (Microsoft Windows)

Sony Vegas (Microsoft Windows)

Ulead Systems MediaStudio Pro and VideoStudio (Microsoft Windows)

Windows Movie Maker (Microsoft Windows)

If you use one of the grey named programs and you know if it can use EffectsLab rendered footage, reply to this thread and I'll add it. Do the same thing for programs that aren't here that you think should be.

How to render from Windows Movie Maker and iMovie: http://fxhome.com/support/video-tutorials/category/7/file-transfer

(I blatantly copied the list from Wikipedia and took out super-unknown programs or software developers. Get over it smile)

I can confirm that the following NLE's are compatible:

AVID Media Composer
AVID Xpress Pro
AVID Xpress HD
AVID Xpress DV

and the following Finishing systems are compatible:

AVID Nitris
AVID Symphony

although these are finishing solutions and not NLE's.

What do you mean by compatible? Compatible with what? The dv files rendered by the FX Home software are just standard dv files so surely all nle programs can use the files?

I know, but people frequently ask what programs are compatible so I figured that if I make the topic title in the same form as the question they would ask, they might look at it and see their NLE and say, "I don't need to post a topic" razz

Any program that can import .DV, .AVI or .MOV can use footage from EffectsLab (or any of the FXhome software) but I figured that some people wouldn't know but they would know the name of the software they use.

iMovie (Mac OS X)"

From what I know there is 2 different iMovies. iMovie and iMovie HD. Does iMovie HD count as iMovie?

Okay, but what if I already have a movie project on imovie and want to open it with EffectsLab Pro. I went into imovie and hit the SHARE button and posted to MEDIA BROWSER because FXL-P had a window pop up stating that it was a different format. Once I shared to media browser, though, FXL-P still will not open the file; stating that it is not compatible. Okayyy, so then what can I do to MAKE it compatible? It won't even open clips that are posted in iphoto. I'm lost here. You think you can help me out?
Thanks!

If you're using iMovie '08:

1. Share -> Export Using Quicktime

2. Options

3. Settings (under Video)

4. Set frame rate to "Current", data rate to "Automatic", quality to "Best".

5. Hit "OK" and back here
click on "Size" under "Video".

6. Choose current.

Try that. If you still need more help, post here again and I'm sure someone will be able to help you out smile

When I import from imovie HD, fxlab seems to create some kind of an interlacing problem. I can't figure it out.

I found the answer here:
http://fxhome.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=27793&highlight=interlace

It's only quicktime that can't read it as interlaced, in final cut and imovie everything looks great.

What about iMovie09, and especially Snow Leopard? Anyone checked EffectsLab out for that?

The footage works with iMovie '09 as well as Snow Leopard.

I'm sure that most places that sells software would have some NLE software as well. Failing that, you could always look on the manufacturers' websites.

How is it running with Windows7? I just had to buy a PC (eeerggghh... I'm still in counselling about the move from mac. )

Who edits in Windows Movie Maker? What file format do people save it in?

Cheers
