You'll need to make the actual picture of your title in another program (Paint, Photoshop, etc), then save it against a black background. Import it into EffectsLab. Put it on your timeline, then click on it. In your toolbox, find "Blending Mode" (I think that's what it's called). Select "Add." Then, add the effects you want.

OR

Make your title in your NLE.

It's your choice. I usually do the first, just because it's more customizable, IMO.

In the case of the Bodnificator preset, the only difference is that the title made in an image editor is imported as a texture for a particle effect. To change the title, you just have to make a new texture containing the name you want, along with an alpha channel for the letters.

Here's a nice tutorial (by Axeman, actually) on how to create particle textures.

An alpha channel - well, OK, I don't know exactly what it is, but it basically means that a part of your picture is transparant. This is what they use for the particle textures, for if they didn't have alpha channels, all the textures would be squares. The alpha channel lets some part of the picture be, as I said, transparant, and other parts, opaque. In Photoshop (and other similar applications), transparancy is demonstrated by little grey and white squares, like a checkboard.
