I'm trying to use the 'Bodnificator' preset in a clip and cannot figure out how to edit the text. I right click the Bodnificator preset; and select "Edit preset". The edit preset window opens but the ONLY thing it allows me to 'edit' is the description info. I want to edit the "Rodney Bodney" text to something else. I found a single layered .tga Photoshop file in the 'texture' folder but discovered when I open the file in PS that it is an un-editable, locked, object file...HOW am I supposed to edit it? I have clean-installed TWICE now and am at wits end. Any practical help here would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. As a side note: I have scoured not only the PhotoShop User's Guide but TWO other PS tutorial type books and NONE of them say anything about how to UNLOCK a PhotoShop layer!! There has GOT to be a way... any help there by chance?!

I'm pretty sure the texture for the Bodnificator preset is just an image, which means you can't directly edit the text in Photoshop without making a new texture the text you want.

Thanks Hawk... that's what I thought. Wouldn't it be a LOT more user friendly though IF the text was somehow editable?
Right clicking on an effect preset name and opening the 'edit preset' dialog box doesn't REALLY allow you to edit anything but the descriptions does it?
By the way, any thoughts about unlocking PhotoShop layers? I find it incredulous that Adobe would let you 'lock' a layer and then give no way to un-lock it!!!
Thanks again -

I'm not sure what you mean about the Photoshop Layers. I just opened the Bodney texture file, and I can edit it just fine. Nothing is locked.

At the top of the Layers palette, there are 4 buttons next to the label "Lock" - are any of them activated?

Seeing as none of the Lab products are text editors, but only deals with textures (image files), text editing is something I'm sure we won't see for quite some time.

Not sure what you mean about unlocking the Photoshop layers, from what I remember you should just be able to right click on the layer itself and choose "unlock". A thing I've also found working is to duplicate the layer, and then removing the original bottom layer, leaving only the unlocked top layer left.

The Bodnificator preset is also really just a bit of a joke...

I dont really know how to use photoshop but.....

If you had visionlab open with the preset applied at the same time as editing it in photoshop, perhaps photoshop is making it read only?

There really is no point in having this, it would be a great coincidence if anyone actually NEEDED to use a "Rodney Bodney" Title, and without the possibility to change it, there's no point in it being there..

You can change it, by making a new texture file to say whatever you want.

But mainly, as Tarn mentioned, it was a bit of an inside joke..
