ok....what am i saying ok for...that was great! 5/5. The special effects were amazing and thats really cool how you used the neon light's and particles to do that. How did you do the teleporting bit, and did you make the monseters your-self, or were they pre-sets? Overall, 5/5 from me because it was good, quick to the point, and left on a good clif hanger....NICE!

Nightbringer, Otolicoss used Poser 7 to create the monsters, I believe.

Wow, that was really great
How did you make the fire? Is that an effect inside Com/Eff/Vis Studio?
I hope I'll get my hands on visionlab for christmas... else I'm gonna buy it myself, now that there is 30% off
Anyway, really cool, mate!

Yes, I used poser 7 to create the monsters,(I bought it) and particle illusion too.
La corde de l'arc et les flèches sont des effets néons, oui.
The fire, it's a No Control Cinema plugin...
J'explote tous mes effets avec l'exellent visionlab!

That was sweet. It reminds me of Legacy of the Spellmaster, if anyone remembers that.

Yes! Very Spellmaster-stylee. Also reminded me of the good ol' days of The Test. Fun stuff! The laser bow itself was rather spiffy - I want one.

yep really cool clip showing good skills of CG work and not doing Poser any harm either.
Also some great innovative use of FXhome app and others.
Great fun and yes it does bring back memories of the good O'l days.

The bow effects were fantastic! The teleportation looked good to. The only thing I did not like was the actual hits with the arrows. Still better than anything I could do myself. I really enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Alright, nice movie. Everything was awesome, esp. the arrow animations, but you could have made the hits + monsters a bit better, as well as add some rag-doll when they die. There should be some hand-to-hand combat next time, as well. But good job, man! Like it
Next time try harder and 5-stars is okie-dokie.

For the monster, I put it on bluescreen with poser, it's good and simple.
With visionlab, I erase the blue and I put colors and lights for the best picture.

I'm sorry man, but this was just completely lacking in all areas. The effects seemed very generic, the editing very basic, and the camerawork uninspired. You get points on creativity for doing the staff that turns into a bow and the dragon-thing, but that aside I almost regret giving this a 2.
After watching it finally without skipping through at all, I'm left with trying to find the highlights and criticisms to give you, and I'm sorry to say the latter is the majority.
I wish you luck on your next work, though. Keep working at it, there's a capacity in the footage, but I'm a stickler for technicals. And when a movie exhibits no story or direction, it really has to rely on solid technicals to keep it afloat. This did not. And the music cues........don't get me started.

I thought it was a great special effects test reel - was the bow done in Vision Lab? That would be an excellent preset. My 12 year old son loved it and can't wait for some better weather so we can get out shooting again - he wants to laser bow a dragon!

While I don't share Atom's level of abject disdain for this clip, I'm baffled why this merits so many high scores.
This is an amateurish, camp yet quite enjoyable effects test, but i'm not going to pretend its awesome. Its unhelpful to unanimously praise something with such a completely lack of plot, grading, blending, camerawork, acting, (not to mention the general poor quality of every effect) unless at least a couple of people are going to be realistic about it.
However I appreciate this is for fun and just a bit of a mess around, so i'm not going to hold it personally against you and it seems you've got a wide range of software skills; but it would be nice to see you use them in producing something a little more elegant.

I'd think it worse to say that the ranking isn't justified than saying it just isn't that great, but that's just me. I don't have disdain for this, I just don't find it spectacular. Either way, it shows creativity and I hope the next the best.

Hm, I pretty much agree with what xcession said. This is good fun though and very creative in the way it uses the effects. Very cool use of our stock too.

There wasn't really a story, it was mostly just a guy killing a bunch of monsters. A lot of the effects weren't that great but others (like the laser bow and arrow effect) were good. The music wasn't mixed well.
Overall, it would be cool to see some of your innovative ideas put to use in an actual movie instead of an effects test, but you should probably also try to stay away from the things that are nearly impossible to do convincingly (like the monsters) until you do learn how to do them convincingly.
