There isn't a Matte toolset in EffectsLab. The Matte toolset, containing the keying controls as well as a host of other Compositing Tools, is available in CompositeLab Pro or VisionLab.

That's intersting. On the EffectsLab Pro page is clearly states, "Below are a few examples of effects which are possible with EffectsLab Pro" and masking is listed along with Neon Light, Particles, etc.

What else is not there? This will have an impact on what I may or may not purchase once the speed issue is sorted out.

Masking was high on the list and I didn't even think it wouldn't be there.

You're getting yourself confused Bartman.

Keying and Video Matte, which you initially asked for is only available in CompositeLab and VisionLab.

Masking effects layers in EffectsLab is clearly stated on the program pages because masking is fundamental to most visual effects and fully possible within the program.

Nothing is missing. smile

Masking is included in EffectsLab. Every layer on the timeline can have multiple masks applied to it.

What isn't there is the Matte toolset, which included the the various Key filters, Garbage Mattes, and other filters used to enhance a traveling matte, which is the technical term for the mask that is created by means of a key.

Then I am happy to be confused as I didn't want to have to move up to VisionLab as an option to put an effect behind some of the filmed action. I have yet to find this ability in EffectsLab due to spending all the time just getting it to run, but if you guys say it is there then I believe you.
