With all the amazing movies in the cinema, one (me) can't help thinking how GOOD it would be, if like 50 of the alamdv users could meet up and make a movie. I know its far fetched, but just ponder it for a moment.........everyone has different strength's and weaknesses in their film making/techniques/sfx/acting/camera angles/scenery/rendering etc etc etc.

How good would it be? The movie would rock. Oh well back to reality now...

Yeah the movie WOULD be awesome. Imagine a huge lightsaber battle scene, with 4 guys in the background just standing there because they are "sick of star wars ripoffs". But in reality, if we really did all meet up, we'd probably all of broughten cakes with us, and once we realized that Malone couldn't eat more then half of one, we'd start a food fight and bitter fueds would arise. We're just too unstable. smile

Heh, I sure malone could finish off a couple, he has a bit of a belly on him. smile

Its a bit tricky to get everyone together cos they're all over the place. Much easier to do a cgi thing although I suppose you could cast it so people who were in scenes together were the ones who were near each other.

lol a traveling movie? We all just plot our locations on a map and have one person start it off, and film with his friends, then meet up with the next dot on the map, and them them film and so on. That'd be interesting to see what we all came up with. smile

oooooooh, your just asking for a -1 offensive arnt you! razz

Meanwhile, back on topic, I think it'd be a bit hard for more than 2 or 3 teams to do the actual filming because it would be hard to get the continuity right. I suppose you could mess the film quality and sound in post. But you'd have to think up some cunning plot where your actors are only in short bits of the film.

I saw a great little lego stopmotion film where lots of people made it and used the same lego figure to get round the problem. Although it was quite obvious it was done by different people because of the range of different styles.

Maybe if someone started off by laying out a list of guidelines to follow, and one person is in charge and can approve or redo scenes. Its an interesting idea tho, I think it just needs a leader to get it rolling

I would except for the fact I know nothing about filming movies smile I dont even have a camera or any editing software (apart from alamdv of course!). I can help out making a forum/website for the movie, but thats about it smile

I think it'd have to be someone with a lot more skill and experiance

lol Malone, you don't know much about movies? How ironic wink I'd absolutley love to direct a project like this , although I thik it'd be extremely hard. Transferring uncompressed video and all. Maybe, a movie about the world ending. We only have 1 hour left. The movie rould represent what each group is doing in that one hour, leading up to a 'Rock My World' type ending. What do you guys think?

Sounds shibby to me. Would definitely get round the problem of having one actor all the way through. It'd be nice if the scenes linked together cleverly with each person somehow effecting the next one (ie phoning them up or messaging them on the net). Or you could have the world slowing being destroyed, so each scene ends in the destruction of all the characters from that scene. Would be cool in terms of effects but maybe a bit gruesome tho razz

I know what Id be doing if the world was gonna end wink
/me goes to see if he can get permission to film in the cake factory

Of course there is problems with this. Lets say I got 4 groups together (We'll just make some up). Me and Harry Potter ( lol ) , Mecha and Sidewinder, Cypher and his Vimy Crew, and Solithar and whoever he wanted. Well, I was going to say what if one groups part was completly sucky, but looking at the groups, I'm not sure thats possible cool But lets jsut say, Solithar (sp?)produced absolutle poo on a stick. I'd be forced to put that in, I couldn't PM him saying "Hey Solithar your movie is poo on a stick". Also as I said up there ^ , no further ^ , sending uncompressed video with me on my 56k would be absolute hell-o city. But, considering this may take 4-5 weeks to do, I may have broadband. If there ARE some groups out here that think they could stand up to the job, just post here. Maybe we could come up with something, and make the impossible , possible.

Jesus (Yes, my son?) that's a good idea!

But it's physically impossible. Plus we're all a bunch of slackers who have no initiative. . . . . . . redface

i wonder if i could pitch in with my lego stop motion antics lol

"while hajiku_flip saved his house from the marauding alien''s, using nothing but his trusty side arm, little lego yoda jerkily walked up to count dooku, and had a random lightsaber fight, only to end in victory..."

lol

As the beatles once said (in a song that was later used in a high-tech commercial): Come Together.

Although this is impossible. Maybe we can do some other sort of project.... like create a winamp skin wink

(i think the beatles also mentioned Toe Jam Football in their song oink )

Oh, and where's that rate-all button! It would be so much more useful to rate multiple posts on a page, rather than one-at-a-time.

How about anyone who wants to makes a short following the general theme - the end of the world thing sounds cool to me, then somehow get them all posted, and vote on the ones that go into the overall movie?

how about giving a rough outline to a plot and letting everyone go away and make their own version of it, see how they compare.

i had an idea to cover up the fact that all the actors would be different...

did anyone use to watch dr who??? on that, when they got a different actor, didn't they say that when he dies, he comes back to life, with a different face or summit, that may be an idea...

or we could do the old james bond style, there have been about 5 actors who have played him...

This is a excellent way of showing the diversity and varied skills in a
film producing community.

Film clubs have used this type of activety for many years, they often suggest a subject and let the members interpret it any way they like
which can bring some surprising if not brilliant results.

This would be an...interesting...project.

You know what'd be fun? If we all made an alamdv plug-in of our head, arms, legs, and torso, and then one of just an open mouth, as well as some other expressions for our face, then someone could make a south-park type animation!

That would be too... freaky for me. Would we be able to do that in AlamDV2? The project files would be huge since the entire movie would be plug-ins.

If you want a big movie just create a studio, all you need is expensive equipment then at your school or work place start just telling people that you have a studio people can join put hours into projects which earn the studio money (ie. recital videos, Dance studio videos...) to buy more equipment then they can use the studios equipment that you bought with their combined work (WORKS GREAT) then the people who join will obviously like making movies and stuff like that will want to make big movies and you have enough people and equipment to do what ever you want.
