Another Idea: Lets make a contest !

We can make a little contest ( as seen on the fanfilm forums...) :
Make a movie within 48 ours!!
That contains: shooting the film, CGI, adding effects in Alamdv and other programs, Uploading the film.
We take a theme and some guidelines, and everyone makes his or her own version.
Then we can vote for:
*Best soundtrack, etc.
Ok guys, what do you think?

Hhahaha, maybe someone can make special Alamdv-Awards; a jpg picture you can put on your website or print it on a t-shirt for example.

sounds like a pretty cool idea to me, maybe a little more time than what you said but it would be fun

I think that would be an AWESOME idea. Have an AlamDV film festival. Malne and Schwar , as you said, write out the guidelins. Just tell us a simple plot. Then , we all go out and make it, give us say, 1 week. That's exactly what I've been waiting for too... Whoooop!

Maybe, this is a good Idea:
Malone or Schwar, comes with a simple plot, theme, feeling, music , or something else. Then, we have exactley 1 week to make the film and upload it . Then we can make a thread where you can vote for the movies with different catagories.
Ok, what do you think?

lol isn't that what I just posted?
If Malone or Schwar don't feel like coming up with the guidelines, I'll write out a contest and figure out a voting system. I could meet with the top filmmakers on the board and we could all come up with a storyline that we all agree on, then we take it from there. Would you guys be interested?

Alright, I'm about to start a little outline here, but I want to make sure enough people are interested. The contest (as it stands now) won't tell you what characters you need, or what has to happen completly. You'll just have a main plot to work with, and we'll see how each person interprets it. But like I said, before we start getting things around, how many people are really interested in doing this?

I hope this contest will be great!!!
ok, I'm in, more people interested?

I'm sooo wrapped up with my own thing that i won't

Cool idea people. Although given that my latest film has taken eight months to put together, I don't think I've much chance of winning. Or even entering.

this reminds me exactly of a TV Show i watched recently: There were 4 teams. Someone created a story, and the four teams have exactly 48 hours to write the story, film it, edit it, and hand it in. The results were pretty cool, and the people said they had a lot of fun.

Yeah maybe a week is a little generous. Plus, I can't wait that long
. Tonight when I get some free time i'm going to try and come up with a good format for all this, then I'll ask some of you what you think and we'll edit it, etc, till it's ready to post up.

The voting scares me a little.
A lot of poeple live on Alamdv, everytime i look on here the same people are on the chat room.
how could the voting be fair, if a newcomer submitted against all those freindly folk that know eachother.....
Eg: kermz = plug ins, ( i would not like him to be upset with a low vote.)
cypher = hosts peoples films in a site.
the list goes on,
so it would need to be fair, and everyone would HAVE to vote, weather it's good or bad, and have to give the reason for the vote..

I see what you mean. Actually, alot of us don't live on Alam, most of us can be found in a nearby suburb
Well, there's always guest voting, as you did ^ there. I don't think we'd have a problem then.
EDIT: There's also NO reason to be afraid of Cypher. He wouldn't hurt a fly, he's all bark

This is a good idea, but there are some problems. I don't suspect anyone, but it would be possible for someone to use a video they had already gotten half done, and there would be no way to tell.

I'm in. Sounds like Fun. Although... From July 2nd to the 8th I'm away. So do you think it's possible to hold the contest after that?

The original fool school was done in 4 hours flat!
I totally up for dis shiz. The winner could get an ALAMDV keychain! OOPS! I already have one!!! hahaha. I don't think there are any left! The winner could get a little think next to the name the says Alamdv film winner X times. Heh.
BUT! Someone could like could just make this awesome movie, and keep it untill they say to work on them, and then just submit that!!!!! Besides, how will we all get cypher to upload them that fast?? He can't handle that much work!!
Maybe people will be honest!!!! That'd be COOL!!
THen it'd be fun!

That'd be impossible for someone to cheat. Since the contest will have a set plot, you would of had to know it ahead of time. I'm starting the outline now, and i'm going to run it by some of you in a few hours. Bah, but they could cheat

I'm not sure why either....
That's my 2nd favorite show, it's one of the only funny shows i actually watch, the people on it are so funny.
Now, back on topic.
Hajiku: ScopeFast sounds like a good name to me...

Er...Mecha, your forgetting Silent Hill.
If this contest comes out right when we're working on that, we might not enter. It'd still be cool to see the other entries, though!
