I notice some of you guys update this site everyday and still have not bought the program. I am curious - what is stopping you? I guess for some of you its the cash. I notice even one Mod appears not to own the program but that may be just an oversite? What is the story? If its just the cash save up ask your parents to pay for it for your birthday etc. Anyways put my out of my curiosity and tell me why.

If they dont, then i dont get the program! and my life is *bang boom* But im using the demo now, but i cant really download any plugins so.. what a heck.. no alam for me.. unsure

OK problem solved. Credit card payments are guaranteed by the banks and credit card companies. Therefore if someone else has used your parents card number your parents do not have to pay. Anyway think about it. People can get those card numbers from anywhere (like when your parents use the card in a shop etc). If you want AlamDV2 now go to the Swedon Visa card website (or whatever card your parents have) and find where it says about internet fraud etc. Barring that send some EUR to me and I will pay for it on my card! biggrin

See, I have been constantly browsing the AlamDV website since almost the beginning. I was looking for a way to do muzzle flashes without using blank guns, and lo and behold, I find this. I then later joined the community, and just watched the program and user count grow. Unfortunately, I am one of those types who spends every penny the minute I get it, so I had not even enough money for this. There was one time where I was going to get it, but the NetBanx thing was effed up that day. Then it was promised to me as a gift, and FINALLY last friday I got it.

From what I've read on other forums, guys have been downloading plugins and using them in After Effects, so they didn't have a huge need to use Alam to get some of the effects in their films sad . I understand that now you have to register to get the plugs...(?) which I think is great, cause really this program is cheap compared to the other packages out there. I mean, After Effects is several hundred dollars, and that's not even the Production Bundle! I don't understand why people would have no problem buying After Effects, but get stingy on AlamDV especially if you are using the components that Schwar and Malone have worked so hard on. At any rate, that's what I hear around town.

I bought it over a year ago when the exchange was way worse (I paid close to 130.00 CAD). No complaints on this end.

It's a bummer about the After Effects issue, but you can do the same thing in FCP3 with AE plugins if you want to exact some revenge on Adobe. wink

huh. You're not supposed to use AlamDV plug-ins in AE... that's not what the plug-in makers made it for.

I think we're the one he's referring to when he talks about using alamdv plug-ins in AE. twisted

We needed some of the capabilities that AE had, whereas alamdv didn't. (motion blur, frame-blending in slo-mo, and a special alpha stencil mask thingy....Also I was having a problem loading some of the plug-ins...).

Don't worry. We own alamdv. wink

BDOG, you need a crash course in financial economics. Simply applying the exchange rate and converting one price to another does not mean that you are paying the same amount for something, because the system of fixed-exchange rates under the Bretton Woods pact has been abolished for quite some time. Since exchange rates fluctuate daily, then the price you pay ultimately does not necessarily reflect the price someone in another country pays to get it.

When your currency's domestic exchange rate weakens, foreign AND domestic goods are now more expensive, because your country's currency has less purchasing power. This means that foreign countries can buy your products at a lower cost to them. Here's a quick example. Suppose 1 USD is worth 2 CD. Now the CD falls, and 1 USD is now worth 3 CD. Since the CD has devalued, other products are more expensive.

Hope that's not too confusing.

Yeah schwar I am not sure if this is an urban myth or it is actually true that you can use AlamDV2 plug-ins in AE. (If true it may explain the 4 zillion plug-in downloads before you changed it to gold users only?)

Polokuo thanks for the crash course in economics. Funnily enough I am a foreign curreny trader for a large multinational bank and have been trading currencies successfully for 13 years. What you say is pretty much bollox. Lets say it is true though. Funnily enough on the 2nd July 2001 the USDCAD rate was trading at 1.5139 and today one year later its trading at 1.5195 which is SFA difference. Therefore I would say there has been no weakening in purchasing power.
So what are you suggesting anyway? It should sell for 77 USD 77 CAD 77 YEN 77 AUD and 77 Sheckles?

Schwar, if i would guess YES.. the easiest way is just to take the pics. and put them in the movie, just like a normal pic, and the plugins make it easier beascouse the effects is already made, i dont use/have AE but i most say i have tried it.. (but with another prg.) redface smile

I haven't purchased AlamDV2 yet because I'm hoping to get the boxed version. But if the boxed version won't be available in Asia - where I live - then I'd be very willing to purchase the online version. Unfortunately, no one has yet responded to the above enquiry...

I do not know for sure but my guess it could be weeks or even moths until the boxed version turns up, especially in Asia. Buy the online version as 1. The download is not that big (even for a 56k modem) and 2. Apart from some plugins (which you can download as you need) all the same stuff will be there. The only advantage about the boxed version is actually having it on CD. No big deal becase as long as you have your serial you can download it whenever you need. Buy it today and you will be blowing things up well before the boxed version comes out. lol

That's why oyou have to come up wiht some mumb-jumbo stuff about how it is going to help you succeed in life.

Like... "If I buy AlamDV2, I will be able to know how to use the software the pro's are using... before I'm a pro. That will, in turn, let me get a better scholarship to a good school!! Therefore AlamDV is actually saving you 5 thousand dollars!!"

So DigiSm89 can you think of a way to change your parents mind? Over 2 months would they let you buy 2 sofware titles for $45 each? Surely shirley you can convince them that this means you are destined to buy crap products for the rest of your days (until you get your own job and money). 100 posts for a product you cannot even buy suggests to me you need a life friend. Get out and deliver some newspapers or do some odd jobs and buy the thing with the money you make! razz

Eh, it was a joke. And because I spend my time learning new stuff everyday (with the exceptions of weekends and late nights) hardly qualifies as no life. If anything, putting down other people for having no life while being on the internet yourself .. well.. nevermind. rolleyes (Unless you are kidding yourself, you can never tell with words.)

I guess its hard sometimes to convey your mood/tone in a post. Well who am I kidding I often make people cry just taling to them. rolleyes

Anyways my whole tone of this post was to try and convert some of the regular posting people to sales. Im am sure the shareholders of csb-digital could do with some more cash.

So now I am going to get personal.

So Cypher how about you? Why have you not purchased AlamDV2?

Cypher's experiencing the Credit Card problem with his parents.

Someone should start a poll on the average age of users here. I'm only curious, but I'm willing to bet Kermz, myself, Axeman, Fallen, Tarn, Schwar & Malone are the "senior" citizens around this joint. Most of the posters seem to be "high-school" age. No problem with that- it's good to see the creativity starting early- it keeps us geezers in line!

he..he..he.....I hear that.

I'm just curious as to who is using this software and what they are using it for.........I have nothing to do with CSB - Digital.....so I shouldn't care really.

There are a lot of "emotional" posters around here...........I think this is an age thing. it might help to know the persons age before people take out the broadsword and do a number on them.

Hey, this is an old topic but I'd like to reply - My sons tried the demo on our Macaddict CD and liked it, but of course when they tried to get the serial code to unlock it, it was "too late". It did not seem fair to them to discontinue the promotion just because there was a new version out, expecially as there was no expiration date on the offer. This does not make them anxious to spend $75 on the new version... Just my 2 cents, which I would have sent you privately, but I couldn't find a contact email on your site.

They might have disabled the serial if it was for ALAMDV1. That program is not supported anymore. You can still download the demo right from here so have them try it out it is great!
