Terminator 4 gathers speed

Much like the T-1000, the Terminator franchise simply will not die. Even after the mis-step of Terminator 3
(a decent action movie, but not a good Terminator movie) the series continues, with a high profile TV show and the forthcoming Terminator 4
. Buzz on T4 is decidedly confused, due to the mix of fantastic casting (Christian Bale as John Connor!) and a dubious director (McG...).
Nobody really knows what to expect, but a new interview
with McG certainly sounds hopeful.

Yeah, first he tries to get Danial Day Lewis and now he is throwing around Josh Brolin's name. He really wants to make a good movie. It might be a good idea for him to use a real name instead of McG.

You know, I had to think about it for a second, but I could be really interested in seeing how this turns out. Christian Bale as JC is really surprising, and McG COULD pull off something interesting...

Yeah, I'm really not sure what angle to go on this. It certainly sounds like McG is going into it with the right attitude. The only film I've seen of his is Charlie's Angels, which I actually quite enjoyed - though it hardly made me think "this guy is perfect for Terminator!"
I like to think that Christian Bale wouldn't sign on without their being some promise of quality. He's made fun dreck in the past (Equilibrium, Reign of Fire etc) but lately he's very much gone for quality projects - hopefully he chose this for a good reason, too. Bale's always shown quite a lot of respect for thet Batman franchise/fans, so fingers crossed he'll have a similar dedication to the Terminator franchise.
Has anybody else been watching the Sarah Connor TV show? It's far from perfect, but it's really much better than it has any right to be. The best thing about it, of course, is that it picks up from T2 and effectively removes T3 from the timeline, but without simply ignoring the ideas in T3. Quite clever, that, I thought.
T4 should definitely have Summer Glau in it, too. Oh yes.

Eh... I've been watching the Sarah Conner Chronicles, and I can only say that they are... terrible. The acting is horrible, and the girl playing the Terminator just doesn't fit(It's the girl from the movie Serenity).
I would love to see another Terminator with the heartless, stoic, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I actually quite enjoy the Show. I like how it's complicated but makes since. It's not the best show ever but it gets the job done. I don't like the fact that the good terminator is a girl. She just don't do it good. But I did like that girl in T3, she was a bad robot
Oh and who's McG?

I hope to God they stop at 4. I have wanted to see a war movie take place in the future world of Terminator, but T3 was not that great.
I don't think Arnie will return for this one.

Isn't this fourth one the beginning of a new trilogy or something?

SCC starts tomorrow night (or is it tonight because it's after midnight...?) on TV here in Australia but I won't be able to give my thoughts on it until at least Wednesday (I have to play lawn bowls tomorrow night)
I must say that I have never fully seen a Terminator movie. I've seen bits and pieces of T1 & T2 but I don't really want to see T3... We will see...

I for one must say I like the show. For a weekly series I think it does quite well with sticking to the style of the Terminator movies while bringing it's own vibe. I just hope it doesn't turn out to be one of those shows that gets cancelled on it's first season.
